Edelman, who retired after the 2020 NFL season, discussed the subject while joining Eli and Payton Manning on ESPN’s Monday Football Night “ManningCast.” The Super Bowl LIII MVP admitted that Brady approached him the very first day he signed with the Bucs and invited him to team up with him in Tampa Bay. According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Patriots and Edelman, who won Super Bowl LIII MVP honors, are currently in the process of finalizing two-year contract extension.

The extension is reportedly worth $18 million with $12 million guaranteed and $8 million signing bonus. Edelman was set to earn $2 million in 2019 under his current contract.

According to various reports, including those from ESPN‘s and NFL Network insiders, Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is facing a four games suspension from the league for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing substances policy.

Edelman appealed, hoping to overturn the suspension or at least reduce it. He also issued a statement via his Instagram profile on Friday.
