It looks like tight end Rob Gronkowski isn’t the only New England Patriots player that Tom Brady wanted by his side when he signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in 2020. According to ex-Pats wideout Julian Edelman, he received a call from Brady as well.

Edelman, who retired after the 2020 NFL season, discussed the subject while joining Eli and Payton Manning on ESPN’s Monday Football Night “ManningCast.” The Super Bowl LIII MVP admitted that Brady approached him the very first day he signed with the Bucs and invited him to team up with him in Tampa Bay. The only problem was that Edelman wasn’t keen on the idea.

“He hit me up the first day he signed there,” Edelman revealed. “He was like, ‘You want to come down.’ And I was like, ‘Absolutely not.'”

Julian Edelman did not explain his decision to snub Brady’s offer, but that might have to do with the fact that he spent his entire NFL career with the Pats and probably wanted to keep it that way. Edelman played 12 seasons in New England, helping the franchise to win three Super Bowls. He retired with 620 career catches for 6,822 yards and 36 touchdowns.

I am a reality TV junkie. My dream since I was a kid was to be on Big Brother, but until then you can catch me binge-watching episodes each summer.
