French star midfielder Paul Pogba is set for Juventus return after reportedly rejecting offers from the likes of Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain. Pogba will come to Italy as a free agent after his contract with Premier League side Manchester United expires at the end of this month.

Pogba is yet to ink a deal with Juve, but the two sides reportedly reached a verbal agreement and have only minor details to iron out. The 29-year-old is expected to sign a four-year contract that will earn him €8 million per season plus add-ons.

During his previous stint with Juve, Pogba helped the club win four Seria A titles while establishing himself as one of the best midfielders in the game. This prompted United to break the world record and acquire him for €105 million in 2016.

Paul Pogba was expected to do big things in Manchester but mostly failed to deliver. After a promising first season that included winning the UEFA Europa League, Pogba struggled with consistency and had a hard time staying healthy. During his six seasons at Old Trafford, he played 226 games while scoring 39 goals.

Despite Pogba’s struggles, United wanted to keep him and have offered him a new deal. However, the player was unsatisfied with the offer and decided to walk away from negotiations.

He even labeled it as “nothing” in a recent Amazon Prime documentary despite the offer being close to £300,000 a week.

“My thought process is to show Manchester [United] that they made a mistake in waiting to give me a contract,” Pogba added. “And to show other clubs that Manchester had made a mistake in not offering me a contract.”

Manchester United stars Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes increased the pressure on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following his team’s 4-2 loss to Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday. This is the latest in a series of poor results for the Red Devils.

“We have been having these kind of games for a long time and haven’t found the problem. We have conceded easy and stupid goals,” Pogba stated, suggesting that a change in managerial approach is needed.

Midfield maestro Fernandes largely agreed with Pogba, claiming: “We cannot do this anymore. We did it so many times, we cannot slow the game down when we’re winning. We have to make it quicker, score once again, get one or two more goals and after that, maybe you can slow it down and make them run a bit more.”

While neither player placed direct blame on Solskjaer, they both suggested that a change in tactics is desperately needed at the club.

Currently sitting in sixth place on the Premier League table, the Red Devils have failed to win their past three league games. Following a 1-0 loss at home to Aston Villa, Man Utd were held to a 1-1 draw in another disappointing performance at Old Trafford.

French star midfielder Paul Pogba is now under contract with Manchester United through the 2021/22 season. The Premier League side picked up the club option to add an extra year to his original deal, with the news being confirmed by Man Utd’s coach Ole Gunnar Solskajer on Friday.

United didn’t trigger Pogba’s clause previously as they hoped to sign him to a long-term extension this year. However, with the talks between the two sides stalled, the club decided to make the move and avoid the risk of losing the 27-year-old midfielder for nothing next summer.

“Paul is our player, he’s going to be here for another two years,” said Solskjaer during a news conference. “I’m sure he’s focused on doing his best for us, and we want to see the best of Paul.”

Pogba ended the last season on a high note but struggled in 2020/21. He is yet to score a goal or provide an assist in the Premier League while proving to be a non-factor in other aspects of the game.

However, Solskajer believes that the Frenchman can re-discover his form as the season progresses.

“I’m sure in the next couple of years, we’ll get the best out of him,” he added.

Despite not making a move this past transfer window, Manchester United’s star midfielder Paul Pogba keeps the transfer speculations well and alive.

Pogba, who is currently on international duty with France, was recently asked by reporters to comment on the reports linking him with La Liga giants Real Madrid.

“Today, I am still at Manchester United, and I am fighting to try to take the club even higher,” said Pogba. “We have all heard these things that have been said. What to respond?”

Despite expressing his commitment to Man Utd, Pogba left the doors open to move to Santiago Bernabeu by saying that it would be his dream to play for Real.

“Yes, all footballers would like to play for Real Madrid,” he added. “Maybe it is a dream. It is a dream for me, why not one day? As I have said, I am at Manchester United, and I like my club.”

These comments probably won’t sit well with Manchester United’s fans, especially since Paul Pogba has been playing poorly at the start of the 2020/21 season. This also isn’t the first time that Pogba has flirted with a move from Old Trafford while claiming his allegiance to the Red Devils at the same time.

Pogba may be trying to build leverage for his contract negotiations with Manchester United. The Frenchman currently has one year left on his deal, with United holding a club option for 2021/22. The two sides have been talking about an extension for the past few months, but failed to reach an agreement so far.

Most Manchester United fans have already started preparing for life without French star midfielder Paul Pogba on their team. Pogba, who has been sidelined since December due to an ankle injury, has been constantly linked with a move away from Old Trafford and his departure in the summer seems like a done deal. However, it appears that Man Utd’s boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer thinks otherwise.

Speaking with reporters following his side’s 5-0 win over LASK in Europa League, Solskjaer told the media that he expects Pogba to be on his disposal next season.

“Paul’s our player. He has two years left on his contract, a year plus the option of another,” said Solskjaer. “You can expect Paul to be here [next season], yeah.”

Paul Pogba only played eight games in all competitions this season, and he probably won’t be returning to field until 2020/21 as he continues to rehab from an ankle injury. And while Pogba’s absence hurt the team early in the season, Manchester appears that they are clicking on all cylinders in the last couple of weeks following the addition of Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

With Fernandes on the roster, Man Utd now could afford to part ways with Pogba, considering they would most likely get a major haul from him. The 26-year-old Frenchman has suitors from all around Europe, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Juventus being considered the favorites for his signature.

Manchester United’s star midfielder Paul Pogba has been in the center of numerous transfer rumors in the past year with Real Madrid emerging as the favorite to lure him away from Premier League. Still, Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola claims that his client doesn’t want to leave Old Trafford and wants to find success with United.

In an interview with Daily Telegraph, Raiola said that Pogba feels at home at his current club and has a special relationship with Man Utd coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

“I think that Paul really went home,” said Raiola. “Paul could have gone elsewhere. But he really chose with his heart, to go home. Paul is a very, very nice person. For example, he’s not able to be angry at Ole because Ole treated him so good when Ole was an older player and Paul was a younger player, and the respect and the love that he received from Ole means he cannot get angry at Ole.”

Pogba was reportedly close to joining Real Madrid during the summer, but Manchester United wasn’t happy with the initial offer that centered on Columbian attacking midfielder James Rodriguez and cash. Following the breakdown in talks between two clubs, the 26-year-old Frenchman decided to remain in England and now wants to be successful with Manchester according to Raiola.

“Paul wants to be successful and happy and wants to win prizes and he would love to do that with Manchester United,” Raiola added.

After having a couple of down seasons, Paul Pogba recouped his form in 2018/19 when he scored 16 goals and provided nine assists for Man Utd. Pogba also opened this season with an impressive performance against Chelsea, contributing two assists in a 4-0 win. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to build on this, as he struggled with a foot injury which has kept him off the field since September.

Real Madrid is trying to lure Paul Pogba to La Liga for some time now, but Manchester United refused to sell the French midfielder this summer. It’s rumored that Madrid could make another attempt in January, and it seems like this move would end up sitting really well with the team’s locker room.

Real Madrid’s captain Sergio Ramos recently talked with Express about Pogba’s arrival to his club and said he would welcome such turn of events.

“I think Real Madrid always has the door open for good players such as him,” – Ramos told the magazine.

Ramos didn’t stop here and he went on to express his admiration about the qualities of the Man Utd star.

“For me, Pogba is one of the great players,” – he added. “He is different, and he has shown his value at Juventus and now Manchester United. I think he brings balance to a team. He has a great offensive influence and he has this amazing physique.”

Paul Pogba was linked with a move from Manchester United for the better part of the summer, as the Premier League powerhouse won’t be playing Champions League this season. There were several other interested clubs, including Barcelona and PSG, but Real Madrid emerged as the favorite.

Real was reportedly really close on Pogba, but had to back down as they couldn’t meet Manchester’s asking price following pricy acquisitions of Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic.

Pogba played four games with Man Utd in Premier League this season and managed to contribute with two assists. He is currently on international duty with the French national team.

The speculation that has connected Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba to Real Madrid throughout the summer turned up on Sunday after his brother announced a move to Spain.

C.D. Manchego Ciudad Real, a small club in Spain’s Third Division, announced their signing of Mathias Pogba on Sunday morning. Considering the team’s location just south of Madrid, it heightened the rumors that Pogba is in the midst of a move to the Spanish capital.

The less famous Pogba, a striker, spent the 2018-19 season with Tours in France’s fourth division. He has spent time with clubs throughout Europe’s lower levels since making his professional debut in 2009 after a youth career at Celta Vigo.

The more famous Pogba has been linked to Real Madrid ever since telling media in a June interview that he was “looking for a new challenge.” The 2018 World Cup champion has spent the past three seasons with the Premier League club after establishing himself as one of the game’s top talents while with Juventus from 2012 to 2016.

His talents would undeniably be great for Real Madrid, who’s looking to add an impact player of Pogba’s caliber in its midfield. It remains to be seen whether his older brother’s signing with a Spanish club is simply a coincidence or a sign of something that will happen in the future.

With only two and a half weeks to go until European club soccer gets going, the summer transfer window is quickly coming to a close. Teams still have some time to make additions and subtractions in order to tailor their rosters, but some ongoing sagas appear to be reaching their ends.

Here are my predictions on where the five remaining hottest transfer targets will end up at the end of the window.

Paul Pogba: Real Madrid

It’s been clear ever since June that the French midfielder wants out of Manchester United. Pogba said himself that he is “ready for a new challenge” and it’s been a poorly-kept secret that he’d love to play for Los Blancos. Florentino Pérez has the cash to pay for him, and Real Madrid could use a player like Pogba. Bet on him ending up in the Spanish capital.

Gareth Bale: Tottenham Hotspur

The Real Madrid-Gareth Bale marriage simply isn’t working anymore. With Zinedine Zidane back, the club has publicly acknowledged that a transfer would be the best option. Although high-value proposals have already arrived from the Chinese Super League, why wouldn’t Bale go back to North London where his career took off? Spurs reached the Champions League final in May, and while he might have to take a pay cut to go there, he’d be happiest at home in the UK.

Neymar Jr.: Paris Saint-Germain

Neymar might not be happy in the French capital, but it seems unlikely that he’ll be able to go elsewhere this summer. Barcelona seems to have cooled on the idea of re-acquiring their former star, and after they added Antoine Griezmann, it seems even less likely. The Brazilian forward might have to stay in Paris for another season before trying to make an exit next summer.

James Rodríguez: Atlético Madrid

The Colombian attacking midfielder got his career back on track on loan at Bayern Munich last season, scoring 7 goals and notching 4 assists in 20 Bundesliga matches. He still has tons of quality in his boots and appears to be keen on a move back to Spain. Atlético’d like to help replace the departed Antoine Griezmann, and James would make a lot of sense for Los Colchoneros.

Leroy Sané: Bayern Munich

Man City head coach Pep Guardiola has been public about his desire to keep Sané, but the 23-year-old left-winger doesn’t want to renew his contract with the team. While he’s been an integral part of the two-time defending Premier League champions, a big money move back to his native Germany appears to be the most likely ending for this season’s Leroy Sané saga.

It turns out that Manchester United’s star midfielder Paul Pogba could have ended up in Spain in 2016 if only Barcelona had more money at their disposal. This was revealed by Barca’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu in a recent chat with ESPN FC ahead of his team’s clash with Pogba and Man Utd in the quarterfinals of Champions League.

According to Bartomeu, La Liga giants were interested in acquiring Pogba from Juventus in 2015 and reached an agreement with the player’s agent Mino Raiola that they will have the opportunity to match any offer for France international. Man Utd came up with $120 million offer a year later, but Barca couldn’t afford to go that high.

“In the summer of 2015, Paul Pogba was playing in Turin and we simply told Juve that, if one day they decide to sell the player, we would be interested,” – said Bartomeu. “When they sold the player, they told us what the offer would have to be and we couldn’t afford that amount of money at the time. So he went to United, and he’s making them better as a team because he’s one of the stars of the world of football right now.”

Three years later, however, Barcelona could have a chance to make up for its mistakes from the past. The club is now financially stable and would have no problem paying a hefty sum to get Paul Pogba. The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with an exit from Old Trafford while Barca and Real Madrid being mentioned as his most likely destinations.

When asked about this, Bartomeu decided to remain respectful towards Manchester.

“I prefer not to talk about players from other teams because I am sure there are also players at Barca that can make other teams better.” – he responded.
