Despite not making a move this past transfer window, Manchester United’s star midfielder Paul Pogba keeps the transfer speculations well and alive.

Pogba, who is currently on international duty with France, was recently asked by reporters to comment on the reports linking him with La Liga giants Real Madrid.

“Today, I am still at Manchester United, and I am fighting to try to take the club even higher,” said Pogba. “We have all heard these things that have been said. What to respond?”

Despite expressing his commitment to Man Utd, Pogba left the doors open to move to Santiago Bernabeu by saying that it would be his dream to play for Real.

“Yes, all footballers would like to play for Real Madrid,” he added. “Maybe it is a dream. It is a dream for me, why not one day? As I have said, I am at Manchester United, and I like my club.”

These comments probably won’t sit well with Manchester United’s fans, especially since Paul Pogba has been playing poorly at the start of the 2020/21 season. This also isn’t the first time that Pogba has flirted with a move from Old Trafford while claiming his allegiance to the Red Devils at the same time.

Pogba may be trying to build leverage for his contract negotiations with Manchester United. The Frenchman currently has one year left on his deal, with United holding a club option for 2021/22. The two sides have been talking about an extension for the past few months, but failed to reach an agreement so far.
