Golden State Warriors shooting guard Donte DiVincenzo will not be activating his $4.7 million player option in his current contract, sources revealed on Tuesday. This means that the 26-year-old will be entering free agency once his contract lapses.

This decision comes as little surprise to the Warriors’ team, with both the franchise and other front-office executives across the league expressing feelings that DiVincenzo has outplayed his contract since arriving in San Francisco from the Sacramento Kings prior to last season.

Since joining the Warriors, DiVincenzo has managed to return to form following an ankle injury that resulted in him being sidelined for half of the 2021-22 NBA season.

Upon his return to fitness, DiVincenzo made 72 appearances for the Warriors, ultimately proving himself a reliable option during a volatile phase for the team when several players departed throughout the season.

In addition to building a reputation as a reliable passer, DiVincenzo proved his shooting ability, scoring almost 40% of his 3-pointers last season.

Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins is set to miss his team’s final two regular season games, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr confirmed on Wednesday when he appeared on 95.7 The Game’s “Willard & Dibs.”

Wiggins’ absence is due to a family matter that saw him miss 23 games earlier this season during a 51-day absence. The Warriors forward has not played since February 13.

Kerr expressed confidence in his player’s ability to remain in form despite dealing with personal issues. “He’ll continue to work and he’ll ramp it up pretty quickly,” Kerr declared.

Since becoming unavailable for selection, Wiggins has continued to remain in form for the day that he returns to the court, working with a trainer to keep in shape during his time away. He also scrimmaged with young players and staff on Wednesday.

“Full court, 5-on-5. He looked good,” Kerr said of Wiggins’ form during Wednesday’s training. “He hasn’t played in two months and he’s out there running around and looking pretty good.”

The Warriors will face the Sacramento Kings on Friday in a road game before traveling to face the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday when they will hope to secure a playoff spot and avoid the play-in tournament.

The Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry could potentially return to the team from injury during Sunday afternoon’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers at the Crypto.com Arena.

Curry has been sidelined since February 4, when he injured his left leg against the Dallas Mavericks. Despite being injured for almost a month, the Warriors’ star player has been involved in minor team drills and workouts in an effort to return to form as he advances in the recovery process. He got involved in scrimmages with his teammates over the past two days, including one on Thursday morning.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr reported that Curry appears to be in good form, participating in the scrimmages and emerging from them without any setbacks.

Although Curry will not participate in the Warriors’ game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday, the decision to omit him from the team is more of a preventative measure, with the Warriors set to reevaluate him before the team departs on Saturday afternoon for its three-game road trip.

Thursday will mark the 10th straight game that Curry will miss as a result of his lingering injury. The team has gone 5-4 during Curry’s absence.

The Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has revealed that he is still unsure as to when he will return from injury. The star point guard has been rehabilitating from a left lower leg injury that he incurred on February 4.

Curry was injured during the Warriors’ 113-119 win over the Dallas Mavericks when his knee collided with that of Dallas Mavericks point guard McKinley Wright IV. As a result, he partially tore his superior tibiofibular ligaments and interosseous membrane and suffered a contusion to his lower left leg.

Unlike his left shoulder injury in December, this time, Curry will have to make a complete recovery before taking to the court again in order to avoid aggravating his injury.

“Ligaments can heal in all different types of timelines,” Curry stated. “So there’s a window for each checkpoint. After the All-Star break, I will hopefully get back on the court, and then depending on how things go from there, we can key in on a specific date to get back.”

While Curry is able to do almost any non-basketball-related activity such as cycling and lifting weights, he insists that he is not yet at a stage in which he can test his body on the court.

The Golden State Warriors are set to complete a four-team trade that will see them complete the move for guard Gary Payton II and three more players; James Wiseman from the Detroit Pistons, Saddiq Bey from the Atlanta Falcons, and Kevin Knox from the Portland Trail Blazers.

While Payton had previously begun his physical with the Warriors, the team decided to halt the trade after team doctors expressed concerns over Payton’s injured abdomen. The Warriors have since committed to waiting for an NBA inquiry into Portland’s alleged failure to divulge necessary pre-agreement medical information.

Should any findings of wrongdoing be made, the Trail Blazers could face the loss of draft picks as well as fines relating to the package of five second-round picks that the Warriors traded to the Blazers to acquire Payton.

In addition to the abdomen injury, the Trail Blazers did not disclose to the Warriors that Payton had been taking painkilling medication in order to allow him to play this season. The trade could not be amended, however, as the trade deadline had already passed by the time such discoveries were made.

The Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is expected to make his return from injury during the team’s game against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night. This comes after the point guard missed 11 consecutive games due to a left shoulder subluxation.

When questioned about his timetable, Curry explained that he would make his return to the court once he feels ready to do so. “With this one, it’s kind of about getting through as much of the testing phase as possible, so if I can get a few more reps in, then I’ll be ready,” Curry explained.

On Friday, Curry participated in contact and 5-on-5 work for the first time since picking up his injury. He became a full practice participant for the first time on Monday. Curry has continued to wear a sleeve on his left arm which he stated is for function and athletics.

Curry’s return comes just in time for the Warriors’ upcoming five-game road trip, during which they’ll need to be on top form in order to hold onto their Western Conference playoff spot. Without Curry at their disposal, the Warriors have managed just a 6-5 record.

Golden State Warriors’ future looks a bit brighter today than it looked just a few days ago as the team managed to re-sign center Kevon Looney while adding Willie Cauley-Stein in recent days.

Looney established himself as a reliable rotation piece in the past season, playing 18.5 minutes on average and getting 6.2 points and 5.2 boards per game. Several other teams looked to use the Warriors’ salary cap constraints and lure him out of Golden State, but he ended up staying with the organization on a three-year deal, worth around $15 million.

Cauley-Stein, on the other hand, will sign a deal with the Warriors that is worth little above the minimum salary. The 25-year-old was a restricted free agent this summer but publicly expressed a desire to leave Sacramento Kings. While Kings can still match Golden State’s offer and keep Cauley-Stein on their roster, they are expected to go with the player’s wishes.

During 81 games he played with the Kings in the past regular season, Cauley-Stein averaged 11.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.

After losing Kevin Durant to free agency and Klay Thompson to ACL injury, Warriors were facing with a challenging 2019/20 NBA season. Still, the organization bounced back by signing All-Star guard D’Angelo Russell a few days ago. Keeping Looney and getting Willie Cauley-Stein on the cheap now assures them that they will remain a competitive force in the West for years to come.

Golden State Warriors managed to get a 119-117 overtime win in a decisive Game 4 of Western Conference Finals against Portland Trail Blazers and booked a trip to NBA Finals for fifth straight time. Warriors rallied back from a 17-point deficit in the regular time and then managed to keep their composure in overtime to complete the sweep.

Warriors were led by Steph Curry, who scored 37 points and added 13 rebounds and 11 assists to record a triple-double. This was the fifth straight game in the playoffs in which Curry scored 33 or more points. Draymond Green also had a triple-double with 18 points, 11 assists, and 14 rebounds while Klay Thompson added 17 points.

Blazers’ most efficient player was Meyers Leonard, who had 30 points to go with 12 rebounds. Damian Lillard also found his touch and played his best game of the series by providing 28 points and 12 assists while CJ McCollum contributed with 26 points.

While Blazers didn’t manage to win a single game in the series, they proved to be a tough opponent, as they had 15+ lead in three of the four games of the series. Still, Warriors came from behind each time to get a win. The toughness of the series was something that Golden State’s coach Steve Kerr addressed in his post-game conference.

“We had to fight and scrap,” – said Kerr after the game. “In the end, it’s a sweep, but we had to scrap and claw for three of the four victories. This was more difficult than it appeared.”

Warriors will now wait for the winner in Eastern Conference Finals where Milwaukee Bucks have a 2-1 lead over Toronto Raptors.

After a comeback win on Thursday night against the Portland Trail Blazers, the Warriors have taken a commanding 2-0 series lead in the Western Conference Finals.

Golden State came back from a 15-point halftime deficit to escape with a 114-111 victory, which puts them in the driver’s seat of the series.

Golden State, which continues to be without injured superstar Kevin Durant, struggled offensively in the first half. They only scored 50 points in the first and second quarters, one of their lowest totals in recent memory.

The third quarter changed the game dynamic, however, as Golden State poured in 39 points and tied the game at 89 heading to the fourth.

They suffered in the fourth quarter, but a late run allowed them to pull away from Portland and grab a crucial win.

Steph Curry led the comeback, scoring 37 points and shooting a perfect 11 for 11 from the free throw line.

Klay Thompson and Draymond Green were also key, with 24 and 16 points, respectively.

The series will now move to Portland and the Moda Center on Sunday for Game 3. If the Blazers want to climb back into the series, this game will be an absolute must-win for them.

It was a bittersweet Game 5 victory for the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.

The Dubs beat the Rockets 104-99 at home with the series tied at two games apiece, giving them a crucial 3-2 advantage going into Game 6 in Houston. With that being said, however, one of their superstars went down with an injury during the course of the game that could alter the entire composition of the series.

Kevin Durant, who scored 22 points before exiting, left late in the third quarter after a non-contact calf injury. After shooting a jumper over Iman Shumpert, Durant collapsed to the ground, clutching his leg.

Durant’s injury was described as a “calf strain” by the Warriors, but he is set to undergo an MRI to further examine the injury and to determine how long he’ll be out.

Klay Thompson stepped up in Durant’s absence, scoring 27 points to lead Golden State. He hit 5 of 10 three pointers and made crucial shots down the stretch to seal the Warriors’ victory.

James Harden led Houston with 31 points in his team’s loss.

Game 6 will be held at the Toyota Center on Friday night.
