What did Week 7 teach us that we didn’t already know before? Well, as it turns out, quite a lot. For example, Cleveland Browns are good enough to go to four overtimes, but not good enough to win more than one. Also, New Orleans Saints showed us that the loss to Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the season opener was just a coincidence.

If you are eager to learn more takeaways from Week 7 of 2018 NFL season, continue reading before.

Cowboys’ Coach Jason Garrett Doesn’t Trust Dak Prescott

Dallas Cowboys are telling us that Dak Prescott is their franchise quarterback, but everything that they do is showing us just the opposite. The loss against the Washington Redskins on Sunday showed that Cowboys’ coach Jason Garrett doesn’t trust his quarterback. Dallas was down three points and had the ball with less than a minute left to go on Washington’s 50 yards. Instead of trying to win the game and give his quarterback a chance to drive the ball down the field, Garrett decided to

Philadelphia Eagles Could Miss the Playoffs

Is it too soon to overreact? Maybe, but things don’t look good for the reigning Super Bowl Champions. Eagles are now 3-4 after Week 7 of 2018 NFL Season, but more importantly, they are losing to weaker opponents, and they didn’t look convincing in the games they managed to win. They will face Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday and outcome of that game could well determine the rest of Philadelphia’s season.

Los Angeles Chargers Are Better Than We Thought

While everyone are paying attention to the LA Rams, there is another team in Los Angeles that is having a great season. After 1-2 start, the Chargers have managed to bounce back with four straight wins and look like they could make some real buzz in the playoffs. Their quarterback Phillip Rivers is looking great, and their defense is also getting better. Don’t sleep on the Chargers, because they have real potential.

We Worried About New England Patriots to Soon

There was that loss against the Jags, and then Detroit Lions also managed to steal a win, causing us to think that this could be a turbulent season for the Patriots. Four weeks and four wins later, Pats are clicking on all cylinders and look like they are ready for another Super Bowl run. Josh Gordon seems like the deep-threat weapon Tom Brady was missing, while the Pats defense is finally making some stops. We imagine that things should look even better in the coming weeks considering how little competition New England has in their division.

In Week 6 of 2018 NFL Season, we learned that Jacksonville Jaguars will never make a step forward with Blake Bortles as their quarterback and that even sensation like Patrick Mahomes can’t do much against Bill Belichick. Also, Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons both showed encouraging signs of life.

Let’s dig into four biggest takeaways from Week 6 of 2018 NFL season.

New York Giants Offense is Appalling

NY Giants have terrific weapons in RB Saquon Barkley and WR Odell Beckham Jr., but their offense is terrible this season. In the first six games, they have managed to score 20+ points only two times. Also, Eli Manning only has six touchdowns in that period while throwing four interceptions as well. It looks like the playoffs hopes for Giants are gone thanks to their offense.

Jags Need to Move on From Blake Bortles

Speaking of terrible quarterbacks, Blake Bortles showed once again that he can’t get things done when it matters the most. While Jaguars defense wasn’t all that great in 7-40 trashing from Dallas Cowboys, the offense led by Bortles was the one that lost them the game. Jags offense was earning three and outs left and right and failed to score a single point in the first halftime for the second consecutive time this season. You have to how long will Jacksonville continue to have patience with Bortles and his “one good and three terrible games” style of playing.

The Bears Are a Work in Progress

It looks like we overestimated Chicago Bears a bit, at least when it comes to their reach for this season. While they became one of the most fun teams to watch under Matt Nagy, the Bears still need to learn how to close out games. After they managed to blew away 20 points lead in the season opener against Green Bay Packers, Bears allowed a game-tying 75-yards touchdown to Dolphins just three minutes before the end of regular time. Then they missed the game-winning field goal in overtime, which ultimately cost them the game. Bears will be a great team, just not this season.

The Steelers Are Back

Ok, we won’t doubt Pittsburgh Steelers anymore. After a dreadful start of the season, Steelers showed in Week 6 of 2018 NFL Season that they are still a Super Bowl contender. The 28-21 win against Cincinnati Bengals showed that their offense started clicking on all cylinders while the defense is finally picking up the pace. Things should get even more exciting once Le’Veon Bell returns.

Week 5 of 2018 NFL Season further showed us that this would be a disappointing year for fans of several teams that were considered Super Bowl contenders before the season started.

Philadelphia Eagles are looking nothing like defending Super Bowl champions; Atlanta Falcons stopped trying; Green Bay Packers are showing an alarming inconsistency.

On the other side, Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams are still undefeated, and you have to wonder whether anyone can stop their high-powered offense. If we are to judge by Week 5 of 2018 NFL Season, no one can.

We May Have Overrated the Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars looked mighty against New England Patriots in Week 3. As a matter of fact, there were so confident that we immediately gave the Super Bowl contenders status. But, after defeats against Tennessee Titans in Week 4 and now Chiefs on Sunday, you really have to wonder are the Jags overrated. Or maybe Patrick Mahomes is just too good, even for their defense?

2018 Season is a Lost Cause for the Dallas Cowboys

Even the die-hard Cowboys fans have to admit that their team is going nowhere at this moment. Their wide receivers only caught six passes in an overtime loss against the Houston Texans on Sunday and Dak Prescott hinted that his rookie season might have been an aberration. Also, the decision to punt the ball on 4&1 in overtime when Cowboys badly need a win in this game summed the team’s approach this season.

Kickers Make Difference in NFL

Week 5 of 2018 NFL Season showed us the importance of having a good kicker on the roster. Although this is one of the most unappreciated positions in football, the kicker can often decide the game as we saw on Sunday. Green Bay Packers would have won their divisional matchup at Detroit Lions if their kicker Mason Crosby didn’t miss four field goals and one extra point. On the other side, Carolina Panthers’ kicker Graham Gano managed to make a 63-yarder in the last second of the game to seal a 33-31 win over New York Giants.

Cleveland Browns Are No Joke Anymore

In the past two seasons, going against the Cleveland Browns meant almost a certain win. Well, it isn’t so anymore. With each game they play, Browns are showing that they are not a joke anymore and that their 1-31 times are long gone. After beating the Baltimore Ravens and their No.1 ranked defense on Sunday, Browns now have 2-2-1 record, but most importantly, they look like an NFL team that can compete with everyone.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick lost the starting job despite becoming the first player in NFL history to have three consecutive 400+ yards game. Vikings now have the same record as Cleveland Browns (1-2-1), and that really tells you everything you need to know about this team. Pittsburgh Steelers and Atlanta Falcons are waving goodbye to the playoffs. It was a real roller-coaster these past five days so let’s get into four biggest takeaways Week 4 of 2018 NFL Season.

Legion of Boom if Done

Legion of Boom, Seattle Seahawks’ legendary secondary which brought them a Super Bowl trophy, looks like it’s officially done. Safety Earl Thomas, its last remaining member, broke his leg and is now out for the season. Since he is a free agent next summer and there is no love lost between him and the team’s front office, you should expect that Thomas has played his last football game in Seahawks uniform.

Atlanta Falcons Are Not as Good as We Thought

We thought that Atlanta Falcons starting the season 1-2 is just an aberration and that they will be back to being a Super Bowl contender in no time. But after Week 4 of 2018 NFL Season, in which the Cincinnati Bengals also managed to get a win at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, we are ready to give up on the Falcons. They just don’t seem like they are good enough to compete at the moment, and after this poor start, we doubt that things can get much better.

Fear the Ravens’ Defense

Baltimore Ravens’ defense has been exceptional so far. They are ranked No. 1 in NFL and are the only secondary that didn’t allow a touchdown in the second half. The offense looks like it will start clicking the right way soon, so the Ravens might end up causing problems to a lot of teams in 2018.

Chicago Bears Are Becoming a Contender

After giving away the win to Green Bay Packers in the season opener, Chicago Bears won three consecutive games and are now establishing themselves as a contender in the NFC. Already good defense became even better with the addition of Khalil Mack, while Week 4 game against the Buccaneers showed that their offense could get productive if they try hard enough. We may be overreacting, but the Bears could be special this year.

Week 3 of 2018 NFL Season was an eventful one for football fans. We saw Minnesota Vikings suffering a shocking 6-27 defeat from the Buffalo Bills, and New England Patriots falling to Detroit Lions to get off to a losing record in first three games.

Baker Mayfield made his NFL debut for the Cleveland Browns and was as good as advertised while Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes II shows no signs of slowing down.

So, let’s get into the four biggest takeaways of Week 3 of 2018 NFL season.

Vikings Should Say Goodbye to Super Bowl Hopes

Don’t blame us for jumping off the Minnesota Vikings bandwagon, but the team that didn’t manage to score a single point in three quarters at home against Buffalo Bills isn’t made for big things. Bills remain the league’s worst team despite this win, but the Vikings showed what they are really made of in this game. They don’t have the championship mentality, and Kirk Cousins doesn’t look like he is worth all the money he received.

Fitzmagic Lives On

While we jumped off the Vikings bandwagon, we are riding with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick all the way. In the loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Fitzpatrick showed why the Bucs are his fifth team in six years by throwing three interceptions in the first half. But he also showed why the Buccaneers shouldn’t give up on him just yet by almost orchestrating a comeback in the second half. Ryan Fitzpatrick became the first QB in the history of the league to have three consecutive 400+ yards games, and that should count for something.

Tom Brady is Struggling Because Patriots Don’t Have Enough on the Offense

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 14 out of his 26 passes for 133 yards, with one touchdown and an interception in the loss against the Detroit Lions. While it is too soon to get worried about the Pats, the overall feeling is that they just don’t have enough weapons on the offense. People talked about their lack of WR and RB depth in the preseason, but we expected someone to step up like always and be that spark. It seems like no one will, and Brady is struggling as a result.

We Are Witnessing the Resurrected Dolphins

Besides the same uniforms, there is nothing even remotely similar between the Miami Dolphins last year and this year. Against all the odds, Dolphins are off to a 3-0 record after Week 3 of 2018 NFL season and look more confident than they ever did. The team tried to change the culture in the locker room during the offseason, and it seems like that did the trick. If QB Ryan Tannehill can keep up this level of production, Dolphins could be a force once again.

Week 5 of 2018 NFL Season further showed us that this would be a disappointing year for fans of several teams that were considered Super Bowl contenders before the season started.
