It looks like Real Madrid will have to find a way to win La Liga without forward Eden Hazard. According to Robert Martinez, who coaches Hazard with Belgium national team, the 29-year-old will miss the rest of the season due to an injury.

Hazard suffered an ankle injury on Saturday during Madrid’s game against Levante. He had to leave the game midway through the second half, but the club didn’t provide any details about his condition afterward. Martinez, however, spilled the beans in a recent chat with reporters, revealing that Hazard will have to sit out for at least three months.

“We are very sad, because this injury will leave him out of action for at least three months,” said Martinez. “A footballer like Eden should always be on the pitch. We have an excellent communication with Real Madrid’s medical staff and we are anxious about Eden.”

Since joining Real Madrid in the summer, Eden Hazard had a tough time staying on the pitch. Struggling with injuries, Hazard managed to play only 10 games in La Liga, where he contributed with one goal and one assist. He also added five games in the Champions League but failed to get himself on the scoreboard.

Real was on the top of the La Liga for the most part of the season, managing to overcome Hazard’s struggles. However, they slipped against Levante and have forfeited the first place to Barcelona. The two rivals are set to meet next weekend in what might be the deciding match in the title race.

Eden Hazard’s stint with Real Madrid hasn’t started as well as everyone hoped it will. The Belgian star winger struggled since coming to Spain, playing only four matches due to injuries and failing to record a single goal or assists. Well, it turns out that Hazard himself is well aware of his struggles and is determined to do better.

During a news conference ahead of Champions League game against Club Brugge, Hazard told reporters that he doesn’t let criticism get to him. Still, he knows that it’s justified.

“I feel good and strong,” – said Hazard. “It’s true that people expect a lot from me and so do I. I can do better. I’m critical of myself and I’m working every day to achieve great things because we have a great squad.”

“I don’t doubt myself, I’m confident. Right now, I’m only lacking the goals and being more decisive. Football is all about confidence.” – he added.

Real’ head coach Zinedine Zidane also isn’t concern about the poor performances of his star player. According to Zidane, he understands Hazard’s struggles as he also needed time to adapt when changed leagues during his playing career.

“The same thing happened to me,” – Zidane added. “I’m relaxed, I knew it was going to take time for him to adapt and it was worse when I moved to Italy because it took me three months, but less in Madrid.”

Eden Hazard joined Real Madrid from Chelsea in a transfer worth approximately $110 million. Hazard previously spent seven years in London, playing 352 games and scoring 110 goals.

According to reports, Real paid around $112 million for Hazard, who is set to ink a deal that will run until 2024. The 28-year-old will be officially introduced on June 13th.

Both Chelsea and Real Madrid confirmed the deal on their official social media.

“Although it is with sadness we say goodbye to Eden and we made it absolutely clear to him the club wished him to stay, we respect the decision he has made to take on a new challenge in a different country and follow his childhood dream of playing for Real Madrid,” – said Chelsea’s sporting director Marina Granovskaia.

“The memories he leaves us with will not fade. He provided all who watched Chelsea play with great entertainment and many match-winning contributions, and for that we thank Eden enormously. He has been a model professional throughout his time at the club, a wonderful individual to have around and a joy to work with. We look forward to welcoming him back to Stamford Bridge in the future.”

Eden Hazard was the Man of the Match in Chelsea’s 4-1 Europa League Final triumph over Arsenal on Wednesday night.

The Belgian midfielder scored two goals and provided an assist in Chelsea’s triumph, the second in Hazard’s tenure with the club.

Nonetheless, after seven seasons and 85 goals with the Blues, Hazard stated after the final in Baku that this match was “probably a goodbye” for him with Chelsea.

Hazard has long been linked to rumors for a move to Real Madrid this summer, a club which has long been interested in acquiring the elite midfielder’s services.

The 28-year-old also stated that he “wants a new challenge,” and moving to the Spanish giants or another big European club might give him the opportunity to lift the Champions League trophy, one thing that he has not yet been able to accomplish in his career.

In total, in his time with the Premier League club, Hazard won the Premier League twice, the FA Cup once, the English League Cup once, and the Europa League twice.

The Belgian international began his career with Lille and then moved to Chelsea for a 35 million euro transfer fee in 2012.

If Real Madrid or any other club wants to acquire his services this summer, it will be much more pricey than that figure.

It looks like Eden Hazard’s time in London will come to an end pretty soon. According to influential Spanish media outlet Marca, Real Madrid and Chelsea are close to reaching agreement over Belgian star forward’s transfer to Spain.

Hazard and Real have reportedly already agreed to personal terms, but the two clubs are still negotiating about the price. Chelsea put a $160 million price tag on the 28-year-old, which is something La Liga giants aren’t willing to pay since the player has just one year left on his contract. It is expected, however, that the two sides will agree on a price of $110 million which would install Hazard as Real’s most expensive signing in history.

Even if Real Madrid and Chelsea come to an agreement about Eden Hazard in the coming days, the official announcement won’t come before the end of the season. Chelsea is looking to avoid unnecessary media attention as they are making a final push to secure UEFA Champions League spot next season and advance to Europa League finals this year.

Besides Hazard, Real and Chelsea are discussing a deal about Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic as well. Kovacic spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Chelsea, with the London club now looking to make the move permanent. This transfer is expected to go down smoothly as all sides involved are on the same terms.

Although Belgium star winger Eden Hazard is playing some of his best soccer under the guidance of new Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri, he is still not ruling away the possibility of playing for Real Madrid in the near future.

Hazard was linked with a move to Spain this past summer but ended up staying with Chelsea after the club was unwilling to let him go. Still, in a recent interview, Hazard admitted that playing for Real is a dream for him since he was a child and he still has ambitions to play there.

Real Madrid is the best club in the world,” – said Hazard. “I don’t want to lie, it is my dream since I was a kid.”

We will see. I don’t want to talk about this every day. I don’t have time, but we will talk about my future soon.” – he added.

Eden Hazard’s former Chelsea teammate and fellow Belgium international Thibaut Courtois already made a switch to Real Madrid this summer. Courtois publicly stated his desire to move to Madrid and in order to force the club to let him go, failed to report for training camp.

But Hazard isn’t willing to take this approach.

I don’t want that [drama],” – Hazard explained. “I want what’s good for me, but I want what’s good for the club because the club has given me everything. I don’t want to say: ‘Yes, I am signing a new contract,’ and then I don’t end up signing.”

Hazard is having a tremendous start of the season, having scored eight goals and added three assists in 10 matches in all competitions for Chelsea.

It seemed like a sure thing that Belgian midfielder Eden Hazard would leave Chelsea before the start of the season. The 27-year-old himself said after the 2018 World Cup that he is ready for new challenges and hinted at the possibility of signing with another club. But now, Hazard seemed to have changed his mind.

Speaking with a reporter after the 3-2 win over Arsenal on Saturday, he assured everyone that he is “happy” at Chelsea and won’t leave the club; at least not this year.

Everybody knows what I have said after the World Cup. But I’m happy here,” – said Hazard. “A lot has been said. A lot of stupidity too. But at the moment I’m happy.”

I have two years left on my contract, and we’ll see what happens. Leaving this year? I won’t go,” – he added. “The transfer market in England is closed. Clubs can still sell players, but not sign new ones anymore. It would be a bit strange that they would sell me now while they can’t sign a replacement. We could see today that fans love me. I’m fine here. We’ll see what happens in a year or two.

Eden Hazard is on the radar of Real Madrid for several years now, and it looked like the La Liga giants will finally pull the trigger this summer after losing Cristiano Ronaldo. There were also talks that Barcelona could make a move for Hazard as well, but that never materialized.

Now, Chelsea is keen on giving Hazard a contract extension and is ready to pay him the club’s highest paid player with around $385,000 per week.

Eden Hazard played 302 games and scored 89 goals for Chelsea since coming from Lille in 2012 while winning five trophies.

Eden Hazard, the star of Chelsea and Belgium national team, is set to be one of the most sought-after players this summer. After a glowing display at the recent World Cup, where Belgium finished third, Hazard has been linked with a move to Real Madrid with the player himself reportedly looking for a new challenge.

Now Belgium national team manager Roberto Martinez decided to spark those transfer rumors even more. When asked if Hazard would be the right fit for Real, Martinez said that it might be the best time for the 27-year-old to “try something different.”

It could be the best time [for Hazard] to try something different,” – said Martinez in an interview with Cadena Ser. “He is a player who has maturity and a lot of leadership. His play is based on talent. Hazard could carry a new project anywhere in the world. He is at the best moment of his career.

For me, it’s very easy to answer that question.” – he added. “He could fit in any team in the world. Players need new challenges and new projects. Perhaps it’s a good time for [Chelsea] and for Eden [to split]. I would be very surprised if Chelsea didn’t have big offers for him right now.

Eden Hazard was linked with Real Madrid for some time now, but the Spanish giants have reportedly made him their top transfer target after Cristiano Ronaldo left to join Juventus. Hazard definitely looks like he is open to this move since he recently said that playing for Real “everyone’s dream.”

Eden Hazard joined Chelsea in 2011 from French side Lille and established himself as the team’s leader and star player. He won two Premier League titles and UEFA Europa League with Chelsea.

Belgium defeated England during their final Group G clash in the World Cup on Thursday to advance from their group as the winners.

The Belgians now will face Japan in the last-16 while England is set to face a testing encounter against Colombia.

Both teams fielded second-string sides during the game. England opted to rest their top-scorer Harry Kane while Belgium did not play the key duo of Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard.

During the game, England was the slightly better team. They ended up opening the scoring during the 51st minute as Adnan Januzaj scored with a brilliant curling effort.

England manager Gareth Southgate showed intent towards the end of the game as he brought on Danny Welbeck to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold. However, he never opted to bring on key talisman Harry Kane.

Belgium continued their recent good form and will add to the expectations that they could go on and win the World Cup.

Belgium stars Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard scored two goals apiece to guide their country to the knockout stages of the 2018 World Cup as they punished Tunisia 5-2 on Saturday.

The result leaves the Belgians as the favorites to win Group G and also adds impetus to their status as one of the favorites to win the World Cup.

Belgium was the top team throughout the game against the Africans who have extended their winless World Cup run to 13 games.

Belgium found the lead during the 13th minute after Tunisian goalkeeper Syam Ben Youssef brought down Hazard in the area and the Belgian captain made no mistake in converting the resulting spot-kick.

Lukaku doubled the lead during the 16th minute following a brilliant pass from Dries Mertens. Tunisia, however, managed to pull one back just two minutes later as Dylan Bronn took advantage of some shaky defending from the Belgians.

The Belgians scored their third and put the result beyond doubt during first-half stoppage time as Thomas Meunier fed in Lukaku who scored his second for the game.

Hazard completed the rout six minutes into the second half as he linked up with Kevin de Bruyne.

Lukaku’s brace took his tally for the tournament to 4 goals. He is level with Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo as the top scorer of the tournament.
