Cristiano Ronaldo is making a sensational return to Manchester United. The Premier League giants confirmed the move on their social media on Friday.

According to reports, Man Utd will pay Juventus close to $20 million transfer fee for Ronaldo. The agreement between the two sides includes $10 million in add-ons as well.

“Manchester United is delighted to confirm that the club has reached agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo, subject to agreement of personal terms, visa and medical,” said United in a statement.

Ronaldo reportedly didn’t take part in Friday’s training for Juventus ahead of the move. He just visited his teammates to say goodbye and later left Italy in a private jet.

Ronaldo was previously close to joining United’s crosstown rivals Man City, and even had discussions with the club’s manager Pep Guardiola. But the deal never got across the line as Man City was looking to get Ronaldo for free, considering that the move would save Juve more than $30 million in wages. Seria A club, on the other hand, wanted at least $25 million in order to sanction the transfer.

Manchester United exploited City’s hesitance and came in with an offer that satisfied both the team and the player. Ronaldo now returns to the club for which he played six seasons between 2003 and 2009. He won three Premier League trophies and Championship League in Manchester while also picking up a number of individual awards.

Cristiano Ronaldo spent the last three seasons with Juventus, arriving in Italy in a $120 million transfer in 2018. Ronaldo played 134 games for the club, scoring 101 goals in all competitions. He also helped Juve win two Seria A titles and Copa Italia trophy.

Paris Saint-Germain and Brazil forward Neymar played with some of the biggest names in soccer during his career, but there’s one player he would particularly like to share jersey with. Unsurprisingly, that player is Cristiano Ronaldo.

Neymar, who recently penned a new deal with PSG until 2025, revealed this in a recent interview with GQ.

“I want to play with Cristiano Ronaldo,” said Neymar. “I have already played with great players, like [Lionel] Messi and [Kylian] Mbappe, but I haven’t played with Cristiano Ronaldo yet.”

Neymar already has a stellar supporting cast in Paris, playing alongside the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Angel Di Maria, and Marco Verratti. But despite a stacked team, PSG hasn’t been able to get to a Champions League trophy.

Having Ronaldo on his side would probably make this feat easier for Neymar. The Portuguese superstar has topped the competition five times, winning one with Manchester United and four with Real Madrid.

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently enjoying a lukewarm season with Juventus, and the chatter of him leaving Seria A giants is growing louder by day. While Real seems to be in play as his next destination, heading to France might also be on the cards, according to multiple reports. So don’t be surprised if you see Neymar getting his wish true as soon as this summer.

Despite being one of the best soccer players in the world, it turns out that Juventus star forward Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t like to watch soccer in his free time. Instead, he turns to boxing or UFC.

Ronaldo revealed his preference during a recent appearance in the Parallel Worlds documentary.

“Playing football is my passion, but I prefer watching other sports on TV,” Ronaldo told former boxing champion Gennady Golovkin. “Between watching a football match or a boxing or UFC fight, I choose boxing or UFC.”

According to Ronaldo, he became interested in boxing and fighting sports earlier in his career while he played for Manchester United.

He believes that boxing practices are useful for soccer, as “you learn to move” while your senses get sharpened as well.

It could be that boxing philosophy helped Cristiano Ronaldo extend his sports career, as he is still one of the most dominant athletes in the world even though he’ll turn 36 in February.

After racking up an impressive 31 goals last season, Ronaldo is scoring at will in 2020-21 as well. He already has 10 goals in only seven Seria A matches, while adding four more in the UEFA Champions League.

Cristiano Ronaldo missed Juventus’ recent UEFA Champions League match against Barcelona due to a positive coronavirus test, but that didn’t stop the La Liga side’s social media team from taking a jab at him.

After Barca got a 2:0 win in Turin, the club’s social media page sent out a tweet reading: “We are glad you were able to see the real goat (emoji) on your pitch @juventusfcen!,” while attaching a picture of Lionel Messi.

This was an obvious joke at Ronaldo’s expense, considering he is Lionel Messi’s greatest rival for the title of greatest of all time AKA “GOAT.”

But, Barca sure didn’t expect an equally effective comeback.

Juventus quickly responded by tweeting: “You probably looked it up in the wrong dictionary. We’ll bring you the right one at Camp Nou.”

This certainly entertained the social media users and sparked the Ronaldo vs. Messi debate that died out a bit since the Portuguese superstar left Real Madrid. It is hard to believe that the debate will ever be settled since both players have great credentials, but at least we can enjoy the process.

Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo continues to make his case for being the greatest player of all time.

Ronaldo scored both goals in Juventusā€™ recent 2-1 win over Lazio, which marked his 50th goals in Seria A. This means that the 35-year-old forward is now the only player in the history of the game to score 50 goals in English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, and Italian Seria A.

He now has 30 goals for the season, enough to equalize himself at the top of Serie A’s leading goalscorers for 2019/20 with Lazioā€™s Ciro Immobile.Ā

“Records are always important, but what matters is the team,” Ronaldo said after the game. “We are doing phenomenal work, and the important thing is to end like this, to winā€”the records come from a natural process, but what matters is to bring home the league title.”

Ronaldo scored 65 goals in all competitions since joining Juventus in 2018.  He recently became the first Juventus player since 1959/60 to score 26 goals or more in a single Serie A campaign.

Juveā€™s win against Lazio was their first in four games and helped the team to increase their lead at the top of Seria A table. They now have eight more than second-placed Inter Milan with four games left to be played.

Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo added another achievement to his illustrious career over the weekend. By scoring in Juventusā€™ 4-1 win over Torino, Ronaldo got to 25 goals in Seria A this season and became the first Juve player to do so in 60 years.

Despite Juve having some world-class attackers in recent decades, such as Alessandro Del Piero, Roberto Baggio, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, neither of them ever managed to top the 25 goals mark in the domestic competition. Before Ronaldo, the latest one to do so is club legend Omar Sivori, whose 25 goals during the 1960/61 season helped Juve clinch Seria A title.

It appears that Ronaldo’s goals will help Juve win the title this season as well, considering the win over Torino almost secured them the trophy. They find themselves at the top of Seria A table with 75 points, which is seven more than their closest followers Lazio.

Cristiano Ronaldo had another minor achievement over the weekend, as his goal came from a direct free-kick. This was his first free-kick goal since he came to Juventus last season, and also his first after 42 unsuccessful attempts.

Ronaldo will now look to add to his goal tally, as he chases Lazioā€™s Ciro Immobile (29 goals) for Capocannoniere title in 2019/20. Besides 25 goals in Seria A, the 35-year-old forward also scored four more goals in other competitions.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a controversial penalty in stoppage time on Wednesday night in Turin to propel his team to a 2-1 win over Genoa, putting them in first place in Serie A.

Juventus found themselves deadlocked with a rival that they were heavily favored to beat after Genoa’s Christian Kouame scored a 40th minute goal just four minutes after Leonardo Bonucci opened the scoring in the match.

Almost unbelievably, the Old Lady was unable to score for much of the second half after two Genoa players were shown red cards and forced to leave the game.

Francesco Cassata was sent off in the 51st minute, and then Federico Marchetti went to the showers only six minutes later. Despite holding a two-man advantage, Juventus didn’t score and saw Adrien Rabiot sent off for their own team just before stoppage time.

However, in the final minute of the match, Cristiano Ronaldo was awarded a controversial penalty after being fouled by Antonio Sanabria in the box. In replays, it appeared that the Portuguese superstar embellished contact and probably didn’t deserve to be given the penalty.

The penalty was awarded, though, and Ronaldo fired a shot past keeper Andrei Radu to give Juve a 2-1 win, putting them in first place in Italy’s domestic league.

The much-hyped matchup between young and hungry Ajax and Cristiano Ronaldoā€™s Italian powerhouse ended in a 1-1 draw on Wednesday night.

The first leg of the draw leaves Juventus with the slightest advantage in the quarter-final tie after picking up an away goal.

Ajax, on the other hand, will be happy to travel to Turin next Wednesday with their hopes to advance to the semi-finals of the competition intact.

The first half of the game was a back-and-forth affair that provided scoring chances to both teams. While no one was able to score for the majority of the half, Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring just before halftime.

The best player in the history of the Champions League found himself in open space in front of Ajaxā€™s goal and buried a header past the keeper to put Juventus up 1-0 just before halftime.

Ajax, however, hadnā€™t given up.

In only the second minute of the post-halftime period, Ajax got their equalizer after a brilliant goal by David Neres.

The Ajax winger beat two Juventus defenders before beating keeper Wayne Sczcesny with a screaming strike.

The two teams both tried to add another goal before the final whistle, but neither side was able to break through.

The draw now moves back to Juventusā€™ home stadium for the decisive second leg next Tuesday night.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are two of the best soccer players in the world in the last 10 years and are perceived as being bitter rivals. But, as it turns out, although they are competing against each other every year, they still have great respect for each other.

Messi recently did an interview with Argentine radio station Radio C5N and said that he misses having Cristiano Ronaldo in Spain. Ronaldo decided to leave Barcelona’s bitter rivals Real Madrid after nine years in the offseason and sign with Juventus.

“I miss Cristiano in Spain,” ā€“ said Messi. “It was lovely having him here, even though it annoyed me seeing him win so many titles. It would be great if he was still here.”

The 31-year-old Argentinean also added that Ronaldo gave La Liga prestige and that thanks to him Juventus are now a great candidate to win the Champions League.

Although Lionel Messi may be missing Cristiano Ronaldo in Spain, he can’t deny that the departure of the 34-year-old Portuguese didn’t make things a lot easier for him. Without Ronaldo, Real Madrid has been playing poorly the entire season which gave Barca an opportunity to assert their dominance in the league. Messi is also without any real competition for all of the individual La Liga awards and is now the league’s unchallenged biggest star.

Ronaldo, on the other hand, replicated his amazing performances from Spain in Italy and already managed to score 19 goals in 26 matches in Seria A. He also added four goals in seven matches in Champions League.Ā
