Central midfielder Marcelo Brozovic opened the scoring with a sensational screamer, while Stefano Sensi doubled Inter’s lead before the half time break. Newly-acquired striker Romelu Lukaku enjoyed a successful Serie A debut, as he slotted in the third of Inter’s goals in the 60th minute.

With no signs of an end to their hunger for goals, Inter continued to pressure the away side until the final whistle, as right mid-Antonio Candreva fired home a breathtaking volley in the 84th minute that sent the home fans into a frenzy.

With matches against rivals AC Milan and Lazio coming in September and a guaranteed spot in this season’s Champions League, it was imperative that Inter grabbed the three points in this match in order to alleviate some of the pressure before their calendar gets more chaotic.

Romelu Lukaku’s transfer to Inter Milan was one of the biggest signings of the summer in world soccer, and it didn’t take him long to prove why the Italian giants wanted to add the prolific striker.

The Belgian goal-scorer put the ball in the back of the net in Inter’s 4-0 season-opening win against Lecce. It was just what the Inter brass had imagined that Lukaku would provide the team with after making an $89 million investment in the striker.

He was one of four Inter players to score on a night that left the fans more than satisfied, joining Marcelo Brozovic, Stefano Sensi, and Antonio Candreva in the rout.

Lukaku moved on to Inter after spending two seasons with Manchester United, where he appeared in 66 games, scoring 28 goals with the English Premier League side.

Antonio Conte, Inter’s newly-appointed manager, complimented the Belgian striker after the win. He said that “Romelu has entered the Inter world with great humility, he is ready to work for the team.”

It’s a big compliment paid to the star, whose tenure at Manchester United was marked with inconsistency despite the great promise shown by him at times.

Striker Romelu Lukaku was given a warm welcome to Milan on Thursday morning after arriving at the airport to complete a move to Inter Milan from Manchester United.

On the last day of the summer transfer window, Manchester United has agreed to sell the Belgian forward to Italian giants Inter Milan for a fee of approximately $93 million. The move comes after a long search by Inter Milan for a top-tier striker as they look to challenge for the Serie A title this season.

Manchester United made the decision to try to sell the striker, for which they paid an $80 million fee plus $18 million in add-ons, back in the summer of 2017.

Lukaku played well at times but frustrated with his inconsistency and lack of big performances in big games for the English club. Now, the club has apparently just decided to go ahead and move in a different direction as they look for a new goal-scorer.

Lukaku will have a new start with the Italian club, where the 26-year-old will be an unquestioned starter. His presence should help the club look to knock Juventus off of the Serie A throne and perhaps even advance far in the Champions League knockout rounds.

Manchester United’s striker Romelu Lukaku received another suitor from Seria A in recent days. According to multiple reports, including those from ESPN and Metro, Juventus entered the race for Lukaku and is ready to offer Paulo Dybala to Manchester as part of the deal.

Lukaku has been linked with Inter Milan in the recent weeks, but two clubs can’t agree on the price for the 26-year-old Belgium international. Man Utd is asking close to $100 million for the player, while Inter is currently offering $65 million.

Following a stall in Inter and United’s negotiations, Juventus saw an opportunity to swoop in and get included in Romelu Lukaku sweepstakes. The only issue with Juve’s proposal is that Dybala might not be open to joining a team that doesn’t play in Champions League next season. Also, Lukaku’s first choice remains Inter, as he wants to play for their new coach Antonio Conte.

Lukaku, who is currently recovering from an ankle injury, played in 32 matches in Premier League last season, scoring 12 goals in the process. He also added two goals in nine Champions League matches.

Belgium stars Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard scored two goals apiece to guide their country to the knockout stages of the 2018 World Cup as they punished Tunisia 5-2 on Saturday.

The result leaves the Belgians as the favorites to win Group G and also adds impetus to their status as one of the favorites to win the World Cup.

Belgium was the top team throughout the game against the Africans who have extended their winless World Cup run to 13 games.

Belgium found the lead during the 13th minute after Tunisian goalkeeper Syam Ben Youssef brought down Hazard in the area and the Belgian captain made no mistake in converting the resulting spot-kick.

Lukaku doubled the lead during the 16th minute following a brilliant pass from Dries Mertens. Tunisia, however, managed to pull one back just two minutes later as Dylan Bronn took advantage of some shaky defending from the Belgians.

The Belgians scored their third and put the result beyond doubt during first-half stoppage time as Thomas Meunier fed in Lukaku who scored his second for the game.

Hazard completed the rout six minutes into the second half as he linked up with Kevin de Bruyne.
