Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti insists that his squad is “complete” without the addition of striker Kylian Mbappe from Real Madrid. The La Liga giants have been linked with Mbappe for months, with many expecting the French star to join Madrid on a free transfer when his PSG contract runs out in 2024.

“The squad is fine,” Ancelotti said after his team defeated Manchester United 2-0 in a friendly in Houston, Texas. “We won’t have problems with the squad. A problem would be having a squad without quality…The squad is great. It’s complete.”

Ancelotti’s team was in fine form during Wednesday night’s game, with new $115 million signing Jude Bellingham opening the scoring by lobbing the ball over new United goalkeeper Andre Onana. Minutes before the final whistle, fellow summer signing Joselu doubled Madrid’s lead with a stunning overhead kick.

Speculation regarding Mbappe increased this summer following the departure of Madrid’s first-choice striker Karim Benzema, who signed for Saudi Pro League club Al Ittihad.

Zinedine Zidane has left his post as the manager of La Liga giants Real Madrid. The news was confirmed by the Spanish club on Thursday.

“Real Madrid announces that Zinedine Zidane has decided to bring to an end his current spell as coach of our club,” said Real in a statement. They then asked fans to “respect his decision”, adding that “Real Madrid is and always will be his home.”

According to multiple reports, Zidane asked the club to give him several days earlier this week in order to consider his future. On Wednesday, he informed the club and the players about his resignation.

Zidane ended his spell on Real Madrid’s bench after the club finished second in La Liga and was knocked out in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals. The 48-year-old legend is expected to take a break before looking at a new opportunity. His favored job is believed to be the head coach of the France national team.

Real, on the other hand, is looking into several potential replacements for Zidane. Former Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri is the leading candidate, while the club’s legend Raul Gonzales is also in consideration.

Zinedine Zidane wore Real’s jersey as a player, helping the club win La Liga and UEFA Champions League trophy, among other silverware. He retired in 2006 but ended up returning to the club as the head coach of their B team in 2014. Two years later, Zidane was hired as the coach of the first team, replacing Rafael Benítez.

Real embarked on a highly successful run with Zidane at the helm, winning three straight UEFA Champions Leagues and one La Liga title. He resigned at the end of the 2017-18 season, saying the club needed a change but ended up returning several months later after the club’s poor run under Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari.

It is strange to see former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho out of a job for almost a year, especially since he is considered to be one of the best in the game. However, as it turns out, being unemployed is actually Mourinho’s choice.

According to Goal, Mourinho rejected a number of job offers in the past as he eyes a return to his former club Real Madrid. The La Liga giants’ current boss Zinedine Zidane is considered to be on the hot seat following a bad start of the season, and if Madrid decides to change things up, the Portuguese manager thinks he would have a good chance of landing the job.

Mourinho spent three years as Real Madrid’s manager (2010-2013) managing to win three trophies during his time in Spain including La Liga in 2011/12 season.

The sources close to the situation say that in recent months, Jose Mourinho received job offers from teams like Lille, Wolfsburg, Schalke, Monaco, and AC Milan but rejected these opportunities. The clubs that Mourinho was ready to consider were reportedly Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich, but neither of them was interested in his services.

Since being sacked by Man Utd in December, Mourinho has been working as an analyst for several media outlets including Bein Sports and Sky Sports.

Only 284 days after stepping down as the head coach of Real Madrid, Zinedine Zidane is going back to the Bernabéu to try to fix what he built.

Real Madrid, which has endured a painful season that saw their elimination from the Champions League in the Round of 16, their elimination in Copa del Rey by bitter rivals Barcelona, and their virtual elimination from La Liga title competition early in the year, had to make a change.

Santiago Solari, who replaced Julen Lopetegui after he was sacked in October after a rough start, started off well at the helm of Los Blancos, but quickly found his fortunes shift after the turn of 2019.

Real Madrid’s early exit in the Champions League at the hands of Ajax was unacceptable for Real Madrid fans and for president Florentino Pérez, and was ultimately the straw that broke the camel’s back.

After 3 consecutive CL titles and 9 overall trophies won under Zidane during his three seasons, the club tried desperately to coax the Frenchman out of a break from coaching.

And they succeeded.

Zidane’s new contract runs through 2022, and Madrid fans and the team’s board hopes that the club legend will lead them back to the promised land.

He has a mountain to climb in front of him, but if anyone can bring the La Liga giants back to their recent glories, Zidane is the man to do so.

Mauricio Pochettino, Antonio Conte, Massimiliano Allegri, and Arsene Wenger were just some of the high profile names that have been linked with taking over Real Madrid after Julen Lopetegui was fired last month. Now it looks like neither of these managers is going to Madrid, as interim coach Santiago Solari will take over on a permanent basis according to ESPN.

ESPN reports that Real Madrid file paperwork which will make Solari the team’s permanent coach.

Since Solari took over in late October, Real has been playing really good and have managed to get four straight wins. While those wins came against weaker opponents, the front office obviously liked what they saw and decided to stick with the 42-year-old at least until the end of the season.

After the turnaround under Santiago Solaro, Real Madrid is currently sixth in La Liga, with four points behind the leader Barcelona. In the Champions League, they are tied for first with Roma.

Santiago Solari started his professional playing career in native Argentina before joining Atletico Madrid in 1999. After an impressive first season in Spain, he made a move to Real Madrid where he played for five years and won seven trophies. Later in his career, Solari also played for Inter Milan and San Lorenzo among other clubs.

Solari started his coaching career with Real Madrid’s youth team in 2013 before taking over the team’s reserves which are playing in Spain’s Segunda División B.

Julen Lopetegui took over Real Madrid only a few months ago, but he might not stick for much longer in Spain’s capital. According to Corriere dello Sport, Real’s president Florentino Perez is already looking for Lopetegui’s replacement after series of bad results, with former Juventus and Chelsea boss Antonio Conte being his primary target.

Sources close to Real reported that Perez already talked with Conte over the phone to check out his availability and that the 49-year-old manager is more than ready to come to Madrid.

Real Madrid has been struggling under Julen Lopetegui recently, with the team suffering three defeats and having one draw in the last four games while failing to score a single goal. What makes things worse for Lopetegui is that the two latest losses came in matches where Real was an overwhelming favorite. Corriere dello Sport reports that Lopetegui’s faith will be decided by the outcome of the next three games, with last of them being El Clasico against Barcelona at Camp Nou.

Antonio Conte was dismissed by Chelsea in July 2018 despite leading the team to English Premier League title in 2017 and FA Cup in 2018. Before coming to England, Conte successfully coached Bari and Juventus as well as Italy’s national team.

Zinedine Zidane shocked the soccer world by resigning as head coach of Real Madrid. This unexpected Zidane’s move comes less than a week after he won third straight Champions League trophy with the most successful European soccer team in history. The 45-year-old announced his decision at a press conference held on Thursday.

I am doing this for the good of this team, for this club,” – Zidane explained his decision. “It would have been difficult for me to win again next year. There have been good moments, but also difficult times. I do not forget that. And at this club, you must know this: I do not want to start a season and have a bad time. I want to end with Real Madrid when everything is going well. I did it as a player, and now again as a coach. This [is] the right moment to end things well.

Zinedine Zidane also denied reports that he is departing because of the conflict between him and certain Real Madrid players saying that he will continue to have a great relationship with everyone at the club.

It is a difficult moment, as I am saying I am leaving, but it is not a sad day for me,” – he added. “It is just an ‘until soon.’ I will always be close to this club. I know many people here, and that relationship will not change, not with the president either. I am not tired of coaching after three years. But it is the moment to [leave] now. I’m not going to manage another side now. I’m not looking for another team.”

Zinedine Zidane played for Real Madrid from 2001 to 2006 and won 6 trophies during that time including one La Liga and one Champions League trophy. After concluding his career as a player in 2006, he decided to make hiatus from football before taking over Real Madrid’s B team in 2014. In 2016, he was selected as a replacement for Rafa Benitez, taking over Real’s first team and leading them immediately to Champions League trophy. In two following seasons, he won two more Champions League trophies alongside one La Liga title.
