The Baltimore Ravens are planning to host former Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant for a workout at some point this week as part of the former star’s battle to get back into the league.

Bryant, who didn’t sign a new contract after leaving the Dallas Cowboys 2018 until November, promptly tore his Achilles tendon after joining the Saints mid-season and hasn’t played in a game since.

The Oklahoma State alum, who made the 2013, 2014, and 2016 Pro Bowls during his time in Dallas, was once considered one of the best wideouts in the entire NFL.

After eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark in three consecutive seasons from 2012 to 2014, Bryant saw his production slowly decline in every season after that and struggled with injury problems.

Still, at only 31 years old Bryant could help a Ravens squad that has one of the youngest and most inexperienced wide receiving units in the league. He could provide a big, experienced target for star quarterback Lamar Jackson as the team looks to push towards its first Super Bowl since 2012.

The team will evaluate Bryant further after his workout and if he does sign with the team, we should know something in the next couple of weeks.

NFL previously discussed several options for the preseason amid the coronavirus pandemic, including playing two games compared to the usual four. However, with the health crisis getting worse in recent weeks, the league made a proposal to the NFL Players’ Association to have no preseason games.

The union accepted the offer on Tuesday and officially informed the players.

NFLPA previously pushed for this scenario, as they believe it will lower the safety and health risks of the players. Still, having no preseason games will bear some significant challenges.

Usually, preseason games were a great way for undrafted players to impress and make the roster. Veterans also had the chance to solidify their place on the depth chart or show enough to get a chance from another organization.

The preseason football also enables teams to shake off the summer rust and get them in the game shape ahead of the regular season.

Despite all of this, the decision to have no games ahead of the start of the regular season is probably the wisest thing. It will help the league avoid unnecessary risk, and it won’t be such bad news for fans, as they can’t attend.

The Cleveland Browns, who introduced a controversial set of uniforms just five years ago which attempted to “modernize” their classic and simplistic look, have decided to go back to their roots with a new set of uniforms which return back to the team’s past.

The Browns announced their new duds on Wednesday in a post on social media which revealed a new set of uniforms that closely resemble the sets worn before the previous change was made in 2015.

“We wanted to get back to the roots of who the Browns are,” explainned executive vice president and owner JW Johnson “We’ve heard it from our fans and from our players. We needed to get back to our roots.”

So, that’s what the team has done in presenting four new uniforms that have gotten rid of many of the more newfangled elements of the last jerseys and have added classic touches like the team’s three stripe logo.

The team will primarily wear a brown jersey with white pants at home and a white jersey with brown pants on the road. Also revealed was an alternate all-white road jersey as well as an all-brown “Color Rush” jersey which will be worn at some home games.

The team is expected to debut their new uniforms this fall.

The Miami Dolphins made another one in a long line of cuts this offseason involving former Pro Bowlers and big contract holders, releasing safety Reshad Jones prior to the April draft.

Jones had spent the entirety of his ten-year career in Miami after being drafted by the team in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He worked his way up from a relatively anonymous draft pick to a team leader and a two-time Pro Bowler.

After appearing as a bench player mostly during his rookie campaign, the Atlanta native entrenched himself as the Dolphins’ starter at the strong safety position until just last year.

The New Orleans Saints and superstar defensive end Cameron Jordan reportedly agreed to a 3-year extension on Wednesday. ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news on Tuesday evening.

Jordan, a four-time Pro Bowler during his first eight seasons with the NFC South squad, was already under contract with New Orleans through the 2020 season. Now, he will add another big-money deal and tie his future with his current team through 2023.

It’s not surprising that Jordan and the Saints want to continue down the same path together considering both parties’ success during their tenure together.

The Saints have made the playoffs in 4 of Jordan’s 8 seasons, and are the back-to-back NFC South champions. Jordan has been one of their defense’s most important pieces in recent years due to his elite pass-rushing skills and dominance of the line.

Jordan’s list of career accomplishments is long. In addition to his four Pro Bowl nods, he’s also been named a first-team All-Pro selection in 2017 and a second-team All-Pro last season.

He has recorded 410 tackles and 71.5 sacks since making his debut with New Orleans in 2011. He finished 2018 with 35 tackles and 12 sacks, the second-most productive season of his career.

Even more impressively, Jordan has not missed a single game going back to his NFL debut. The 29-year-old has played in all of the Saints’ games, both playoff and regular season, dating back to his rookie year.

Jacksonville added veteran wideout Terrelle Pryor to their roster after signing him to a one-year deal on Monday.

Pryor, who was drafted as a quarterback out of Ohio State by the Raiders in the 2011 NFL Draft, has spent the majority of his pro career as a wide receiver.

The 29-year-old played last season with the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets. He caught only 16 passes for 252 yards and 2 touchdowns in a disappointing 2018 campaign.

The NFL veteran had his best season after making the transition to receiver in the 2016 season for the Cleveland Browns. This year, he broke the thousand-yard mark with 1,007 receiving yard sale and 7 touchdowns.

He has thus far been unable to replicate this success.

Jacksonville is willing, however, to give the wideout a short-term deal to see if he can regain the magic that he found in 2016.

Adam Gase took on the task as interim GM of the New York Jets with fervor, making a move almost immediately after taking over the job this week.

Gase decided to trade linebacker Darron Lee to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, reported Yahoo! News on Wednesday.

Lee, the 20th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, disappointed many in the Jets organization after not living up to the expectations placed on him as a first-round pick.

The writing was on the wall for the former Ohio State Buckeye after the Jets declined to pick up their option for the 2019 season on Lee’s contract earlier this month.

The undersized linebacker failed to make much of an impact in three seasons in the Big Apple despite starting a total of 36 games. He only recorded 4 sacks in three seasons with the team and struggled mightily in pass coverage.

To add insult to injury, Lee was suspended for 4 games at the end of last season due to failing a PED test.

Lee will look to give his career a fresh start in Kansas City, joining a franchise with a strong defense and that has won the AFC West for the past three seasons.

Baldwin announced his retirement via Twitter in the form of a letter written to his younger self. He reflected on his career, his personal growth, and the lessons he learned during his time with Seattle. He ended the “letter” with this tweet, signaling that he will be hanging up his cleats.

Baldwin began his NFL after being passed over in seven rounds of the NFL Draft. He signed with the Seahawks as an unheralded undrafted free agent. From there, however, he developed into one of his team’s most important players.

The Stanford alum started his career well, leading the team in receiving yards and touchdowns as a rookie. From there, he went onto have a highly productive career.
