New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is feared to be out for the season after he was forced off the field by a noncontact injury in his team’s 30-6 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. A source has claimed that the quarterback suffered a torn ACL.

Jones’ right knee buckled during the final play of the first quarter. After testing it out between quarters, Jones decided to proceed with the game, however, he collapsed on the first play of the second quarter without receiving any physical contact.

An MRI for the quarterback has been scheduled for Monday in order to determine the full extent of his injury. This comes after the X-ray that he underwent at Allegiant Stadium, which came back negative. Still, the fact that Jones suffered a noncontact injury has raised concerns that he will be out over the long term.

New York Giants wide receiver Cole Beasley has been taken off of his team’s practice squad as per the player’s wishes. Although he still intends to play football, Beasley decided to ask for his release as he does not envision a scenario in which he would make the Giants’ active roster.

Beasley started the season on injured reserve due to harboring a quad injury that he picked up during training camp. While he has since returned to fitness, the Giants have not had a place for him on their squad with the likes of Darius Slayton, Isaiah Hodgins, Wan’Dale Robinson, Parris Campbell, Jalin Hyatt, and Sterling Shepard all filling places on the active roster.

Currently, in his 12th professional season, Beasley has made 556 career catches for 5,744 yards and 34 touchdowns with the Buffalo Bills, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones stated on Thursday that he underwent a neck procedure during the winter. He clarified that this procedure was not related to a football injury and is not connected to the neck issue that ruled him out of action for the last six games of the last NFL season.

“I had a non-football-related procedure done on my neck. I saw there was something about it. It was completely unrelated, but I feel good. Neck is great,” Jones confirmed.

Jones was sidelined during week 12 of last season with what was labeled a “disc injury”, resulting in the player remaining on the injured reserve until the conclusion of the season.

Concerns about Jones’ health came to light when a photo circulated on social media showing what appeared to be a six-inch scar above Jones’ chest, thereby signifying the possibility that he had undergone surgery.

Jones returned to football on Thursday night in the game against the New England Patriots. He managed to complete 6 of 10 passes for 69 yards to help the Giants to a narrow 23-21 win.

The New York Giants continued to have offensive struggles in a 30-10 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, resulting in offensive coordinator Jason Garret losing his job. The team confirmed the news on Tuesday, posting a short message on their official social media.

Garrett was fired less than 24 hours after the Giants managed just 215 yards of offense against the Bucs. The offense also had season-low 15 first downs and produced only one play that went over 16 yards.

Speaking with reporters after the game, Giants head coach Joe Judge admitted that his team struggles to score while blaming the coaching staff.

“We have to do a better job of scoring points,” Judge said via ESPN. “We have to do a better job of putting our players in a position to make plays. We have too many good players.”

The Giants have been one of the worst teams on offense in NFL since Jason Garrett took over the offensive coordinator duties ahead of the 2020 season. In his first year on the job, the team managed to score just 17.5 points per game, which ranked them 31st in the league. This season, the Giants are 25th with 18.9 points per game.

It is unclear who will succeed Garrett in the OC role, but former Cleveland Browns head coach Freddie Kitchen is considered to be a strong candidate. Kitchen joined the organization as a tight-end coach in 2020 before being promoted to the senior offensive assistant role before the 2021 season.

The New York Giants hoped the 2021 NFL season would finally be the one in which they return to playoffs. But as it turns out, this season had nothing but disappointments in store for both the team and the Giants fans.

Coach Joe Judge isn’t shying away from the fact that his team is playing bad football and believes he knows who’s responsible for the 1-5 start of the campaign.

“I’m the head coach. It’s my responsibility, point blank,” Judge said during a chat with reporters on Thursday. “Every player on this field, every position group, the execution, it all comes down to me. The fish stinks from the head down.”

Still, Judge said that he is feeling no pressure for having another bad start of the season and compiling a 7-15 record since taking over the Giants. The 39-year-old believes his team will turn things around and that better times for the franchise are around the corner.

“I can assure everyone out there that’s a Giants fan and they want to know when it’s going to turn, I can tell them right now we’re working tirelessly to make sure we get this thing turned around in the right direction, not just for short-term results, but for long-term success,” he added.

While it’s great that Judge remains optimistic, it is still hard to see the Giants getting any better anytime soon. They not only have a tough schedule that will see them play teams with a winning record in their next four games but are also significantly banged up and will be without several of their key players in the coming weeks.

New York Giants decided to move on from running back Paul Perkins. Giants announced on Thursday that they have waived Perkins after the player suffered a non-football pectoral injury. Perkins was Week 1 starting running back for the Giants in 2017 season.

New York Giants won’t feel Perkins’ absence too much since the team drafted Penn State’s running back Saquon Barkley with the second overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Besides Barkley, the Giants also have Wayne Gallman and Jonathan Stewart as RBs on their roster.

According to ESPN’s reports, Paul Perkins suffered the injury prior to the start of the Giants’ offseason workout program and decided to undergo a surgery. These types of injuries take around six months to fully heal, so it may be unlikely for Perkins to play again in 2018.
Paul Perkins entered the NFL in 2016 when he was selected by the Giants with the 149th overall pick in that year’s NFL Draft. Although he was team’s fourth running back on the depth chart starting the 2016 season, Perkins managed to get more playing time and ended the regular season with 112 carries for 456 yards and added 15 receptions for 162 yards.

Before the start of 2017 regular season, Giants’ coach Ben McAdoo named Perkins the team’s starting running back. Perkins, however, didn’t have plenty to show, playing in 11 games and having 41 carries for 90 yards.

The New York Giants have reinstated Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie after the cornerback was suspended by the team on October, 11. The Giants handed Rodgers-Cromartie a suspension after he made an unexcused leave from the team’s facility. He was previously informed that he will be benched for the game against the Denver Broncos. Besides confirming that they have reinstated Rodgers-Cromartie, the Giants also announced that the team has waived CB Michael Hunter.

On October, 8 Giants pulled off Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie from the game against the Los Angeles Charges since he looked injured. Rodgers-Cromartie reacted badly to the decision and threw his helmet before storming to the locker room. Following his reaction, the Giants decided to bench him, which eventually lead Rodgers-Cromartie to leave the team’s facility and get suspended.

I got a tweak and they thought that was it. I was like, ‘I’m good,‘” – Rodgers-Cromartie said about the incident. “Just miscommunication. At the end of the day, I still can’t react the way I did. Did I wear my emotions on my sleeves? Yeah, because at the end of the day I want to play ball.

Rodgers-Cromartie had a meeting with head coach Ben McAdoo on Tuesday, which ended with him being reinstated. He participated in the team’s practice on Wednesday. Coach McAdoo didn’t want to discuss the meeting he had with the player but said there are no problems with him and Rodgers-Cromartie.

He had a great day. It’s good to see him back.” – said McAdoo on Wednesday.

After spending his college career with the Tennessee State Tigers, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie entered the 2008 NFL Draft. He was selected by the Arizona Cardinals with the 16th overall pick. He spent three years with the Cardinals, before being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles. After two years, with the Eagles, Rodgers-Cromartie spent one year with the Denver Broncos, before signing five-year, $35 million deal with the Giants in 2014. His NFL statistics include 407 tackles, 144 pass deflections, 30 interceptions and 7 defensive touchdowns.
