Star forward Gareth Bale is coming to Major League Soccer. Bale will play for LAFC after inking a 12-month contract with the Western Conference. The agreement also contains an option to keep Welsh international in the United States through 2024.

Bale is set to arrive in MLS as a free agent since his contract with La Liga giants Real Madrid expires on June 30th.

“I am extremely excited for this move to LAFC,” Bale said for LAFC’s official website. “This is the right place for me and my family and the right time in my career, and I can’t wait to get started working with the team and getting ready to win more trophies in Los Angeles.”

Surprisingly, Bale decided to take a significant pay cut to come to LA. According to reports, he will earn slightly above $1 million and will not take one of the team’s Designated Player spots. Instead, the deal was completed using Targeted Allocation Money (TAM).

Bale is the second European star LAFC managed to lure in recent weeks. The 32-year-old will join ex-Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini, who signed with the Los Angeles team earlier this month. The duo is expected to make debuts for their new club in the El Tráfico derby against LA Galaxy on July 8th.

Gareth Bale is best known for his time with Real Madrid, where he spent eight seasons and captured 16 trophies, including three La Liga titles and five UEFA Champions League wins. Bale leaves Real having made 258 appearances in all competitions while scoring 106 goals and dishing 67 assists.

Welsh star forward Gareth Bale confirmed on Wednesday that he’ll leave La Liga giants Real Madrid after his contract expires this summer. Bale spent nine years with Real and won three La Liga titles and five UEFA Champions League trophies during that time.

Bale announced the news in a letter published on his social media.

“To wear the pristine white kit, to wear the crest on my chest, to play at the Santiago Bernabeu, to win titles and to be part of what it’s so famous for, to win the Champions League,” wrote Bale. “I can now look back, reflect and say with honesty that this dream became a reality and much, much more.”

Gareth Bale arrived in Madrid in a record-breaking transfer from Tottenham in 2013. He was a key figure for Los Blancos during his early days at Santiago Bernabeu, but injuries and inconsistency limited his impact on the team in recent years. The 32-year-old player only played seven games in all competitions this season after spending 2020–21 on loan with Tottenham Hotspur.

Bale is reportedly undecided on his future. He is waiting to see whether Wales makes it to the 2022 World Cup and will determine his next step based on that. Sources close to the player say that one of the options he is considering is retirement.

All things point out that Wales star forward Gareth Bale is nearing the end of his stint with La Liga giants Real Madrid. If this ends up being the case, his next destination might be Italy, where AC Milan is believed to be interested in his services.

Calciomercato reports that AC Milan is ready to make a move for Bale in the summer when the 32-year-old player becomes a free agent. It is believed that the club’s sporting director Paolo Maldini already got in touch with the player’s representatives to see if the Welshman would be in favor of the move.

Bale has been out of favor at Real, making only five appearances in all competitions this season. However, he played better for the national team, scoring two goals earlier this month in a 2-1 win over Austria in the European qualifiers. The latter led the interested clubs, which also include Championship side Cardiff City and his former club Tottenham Hotspur, to believe Bale can still be a difference-maker with a chance of scenery.

But while Gareth Bale might have his options in the summer, it might all be for nothing. English media recently reported that the nagging injuries could lead Bale to retire from soccer altogether. If Wales manages to get to the 2022 World Cup, he would be interested in signing a short-term deal and then quitting after the tournament. On the other hand, if his national team doesn’t manage to get in, Bale could walk away as soon as his contract with Real Madrid runs out.

After Welsh star forward Gareth Bale re-discovered his form while on loan with Tottenham Hotspur, many believed he will look to make his return to England permanently. But it seems like Bale has other plans.

In a chat with reporters on Tuesday, Bale said that he intends to return to Real Madrid next season and honor the last year of his contract with La Liga powerhouse.

“There’s no distraction for me,” said Bale. “I think the main reason I came to Spurs this year was to play football first and foremost.”

“My plan is to go back, that’s as far I have planned,” he added.

While Bale’s comments might not sit well with Tottenham’s fans, the truth is that his stay in London past this season was always unlikely. The Spurs don’t have the financial power to handle the player’s massive salary, while Jose Mourinho already downplayed the possibility of his stay in earlier interviews.

After falling out of Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane’s plans, Gareth Bale joined Tottenham on a season loan ahead of the 2020/21 season. While his return to Spurs was met with few hiccups early on, the 31-year-old has been on an impressive run lately.

In his last four starts in the Premier League, Bale scored four goals and added one assist. Overall, he has 10 goals and three assists in 23 matches in all competitions.

Welsh star forward Gareth Bale has a new club. Sort of.

Bale re-joined Tottenham Hotspur, with whom he previously played between 2007 and 2013, arriving on a season-long loan from Real Madrid.

The Premier League side confirmed the move on social media over the weekend.

Bale was previously deemed surplus at Santiago Bernabeu after playing just 16 games last season. The 31-year-old forward was linked with several different teams, but Tottenham was the fastest and secured themselves a marquee signing in what has been a lukewarm transfer window for the London club so far.

“It’s just incredible to be back, and hopefully now I can get some match fitness and get under way and really help the team, and hopefully win trophies,” said Bale. “I always thought when I did leave that one day I would love to come back. The opportunity now has arisen, and I feel like it’s a good fit.”

According to reports, Tottenham will pay around 40 percent of Bale’s $771,000 weekly salary as part of the deal while Real Madrid will take care of the rest.

Gareth Bale became one of the world’s best players during his first stint with Tottenham, making 203 appearances for the club and being selected as Premier League’s best player two times. He left London in the summer of 2013 to join Real in a record $120 million transfer.

Bale won a number of trophies in Spain, including two La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions Leagues, while being one of Real’s key players in most of these feats. However, he fell out of favor with manager Zinedine Zidane in the past couple of seasons, which ultimately led to his departure.

La Liga champions Real Madrid are so desperate to see Gareth Bale leave that they are ready to take a significant financial hit in order to make that happen. According to Spanish media outlet Cadena Ser, Real is willing to pay half of Gareth Bale’s salary if he joins a new club.

Bale is considered out of favor at Santiago Bernabeu for some time now, and both the player and Real want to go their separate ways. The issue is that the 34-year-old forward’s massive $17.75 million salary that turned away potential suitors.

Initially, Real considered releasing Bale outright, but such a move would come at a huge cost considering the Welsh forward has two years left on his deal. So, the Spanish club is now looking into the scenario in which they would let him go for free and finance half of his salary earnings to facilitate a move.

Gareth Bale’s next destination is probably the Premier League, where Manchester United and his old club Tottenham Hotspur are interested in his services. However, if these latest reports turn out to be true, expect that Bale quickly attracts suitors from all across Europe.

While Bale was mostly successful during his seven-year stint with Real, he struggled to make a big impact for the club in the past two seasons. This is especially the case for the 2019/20 season when he played just 16 games in La Liga and only scored twice.

Gareth Bale’s time with Real Madrid might be finally over. The Welshman has been linked with a departure from Santiago Bernabeu for some time now, but Real never actually came close to selling him. According to influential Spanish media outlet AS, things recently change as the club is now prepared to let Bale leave in the summer.

Sources close to the club told AS that Real is wary of the economic struggles caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and consider Bale’s departure beneficial for the club’s long term stability. The 30-year-old is the club’s highest earner, making $15 million a year, so having his wage off their books would clear the way for adding other impactful players.

Another reason why Gareth Bale is one foot out of the door is the fact that he is not playing much under Zinedine Zidane. Bale only played 14 games in La Liga this season and contributed with just two goals and two assists. Zidane prefers young starlets Vinicius and Rodrygo ahead of the veteran winger, which is why Bale even missed El Clásico.

Bale joined Real Madrid in 2013 in a record-breaking transfer worth around $110 million. He scored 105 goals in 249 games for Real in all competition, while helping the club win four Champions League trophies and one La Liga title.

Real Madrid’s star winger Gareth Bale has been linked with returning to England’s Premier League for some time now, but it looks like the 29-year-old is not keen on moving from Spain just yet. According to Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett, his client is “very happy” at Real.

“He’s very happy here. He’s a Real Madrid player,” – Barnett told Deportes Cuatro. “Right now, he’s not thinking about going back to England.”

“I can’t predict the future. But, for now, he’s very happy,” – he added.

Although he was supposed to take C. Ronaldo’s place as the club’s main star, Bale struggled this season and managed to score only 14 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions. This fueled the rumors that he was becoming increasingly disillusioned with life in Spain and could return to England where Manchester United and Chelsea are interested in his favors.

Gareth Bale joined Real Madrid in 2013 from Tottenham in a transfer worth a then-record $110 million. During his time in Madrid, Bale won 14 trophies including one La Liga and four UEFA Champions League titles. He played a total of 227 games in all competitions and scored 102 goals.
