All things point out that Wales star forward Gareth Bale is nearing the end of his stint with La Liga giants Real Madrid. If this ends up being the case, his next destination might be Italy, where AC Milan is believed to be interested in his services.

Calciomercato reports that AC Milan is ready to make a move for Bale in the summer when the 32-year-old player becomes a free agent. It is believed that the club’s sporting director Paolo Maldini already got in touch with the player’s representatives to see if the Welshman would be in favor of the move.

Bale has been out of favor at Real, making only five appearances in all competitions this season. However, he played better for the national team, scoring two goals earlier this month in a 2-1 win over Austria in the European qualifiers. The latter led the interested clubs, which also include Championship side Cardiff City and his former club Tottenham Hotspur, to believe Bale can still be a difference-maker with a chance of scenery.

But while Gareth Bale might have his options in the summer, it might all be for nothing. English media recently reported that the nagging injuries could lead Bale to retire from soccer altogether. If Wales manages to get to the 2022 World Cup, he would be interested in signing a short-term deal and then quitting after the tournament. On the other hand, if his national team doesn’t manage to get in, Bale could walk away as soon as his contract with Real Madrid runs out.
