The Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White is feared to have suffered a torn right Achilles during the third quarter of his team’s 48-20 win over the Miami Dolphins. This comes just a year after he tore his left ACL. Bills coach Sean McDermott revealed that the player is set to undergo an MRI scan on Monday.

“He’s been through a lot. And sometimes you wonder, right? Why things like that happen twice, you know, to someone,” McDermott commented after the win over the Dolphins.  “I’m not saying what it is, what it isn’t. I’m just saying like, you know, you just wonder why. Because you watch him and how hard he’s worked to get back. And yeah, you know, I just, I know he’s a man of faith. And I know how strong he is. And you know, he will, he will rebound.”

During the last minute of the third quarter, White suffered the noncontact injury as he was attempting to cover wide receiver Tyreek Hill on a fourth-and-1 play.

After taking some time to decide whether he was going to opt-out of the 2020 NFL season or not, Tre’Davious White has decided that he will be suiting up in 2020.

The 25-year-old cornerback was undecided earlier this week, stating that he was still mulling it over and was non-committal when asked about whether he was going to play. White recently called out fans that criticized him for not making a decision yet, calling them “selfish.”

Bills fans should be happy now, with their star cornerback ready to go. 2020 will be a crucial year for the young, up-and-coming Bills team.

With the dynasty of the New England Patriots apparently coming to an end with the departure of six-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady, the Bills are in a great position to establish control in the AFC East.

With the deadline for opting-out ending on Thursday, only two Bills players took that route—cornerback E.J. Gaines and defense lineman Star Lotulelei.

Earning both All-Pro and Pro Bowl nods in 2019, White was easily one of the best cornerbacks in the league last year, finishing tied for first in the league with six interceptions.

The team confirmed on Wednesday that they have officially exercised the fifth-year option on White’s rookie deal, locking him under contract through 2021.

White had a breakthrough season in 2019, earning Pro Bowl selection and First-Team All-Pro honors. He finished the year with league-leading six interceptions to go with 58 tackles and 1.0 sacks.

By picking up his contract option, the Bills are believed to be setting the terrain for a long-term extension they will probably offer White in the future. Reportedly, White is in line for a record-breaking deal since he is already considered to be one of the best corners in the game at the age of 25.

After an All-American senior year at LSU, Tre’Davious White declared for the 2017 NFL Draft, where he was selected 27th overall by the Bills. White made an immediate impact in his rookie season, earning PFWA All-Rookie Team honors and becoming one of the foundations of Bill’s highly-regarded defense. Since entering the league, he built a reputation of being a lock-down corner capable of shutting down opponent’s best receivers.

White’s career stats include tackles 181 tackles, 1.0 sacks, 43 pass deflections, and 12 interceptions.

The New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski received a one-game suspension from NFL for his late hit on Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White. The incident happened in the fourth quarter of Patriots 23-3 win over the Bills. White was covering Gronkowski on a play and managed to intercept a pass while falling to the ground. With White still on the ground, Gronkowski hit him with an elbow. Gronkowski was penalized for unnecessary roughness while White suffered a concussion.

This was the first time Gronkowski was suspended since he entered the league in 2010. He appealed on the decision unsuccessfully and will miss the upcoming game against the Miami Dolphins. Gronkowski, however, did apologize to White for his actions.

“Just wanna apologize to Tre’Davious White. I don’t really believe in type of shots like that.” – said Gronkowski to the reporters after the game. “I mean, I feel like he was trying to push me a little bit and made the play. I just don’t understand why there wasn’t a flag. A couple times in the game. They are calling me for the craziest, craziest stuff ever and it’s just like, crazy. I mean, like what am I supposed to do? And then they don’t call that, I mean. It was just frustration and that’s what happened.“

Rob Gronkowski is currently leading the New England Patriots with 55 catches and seven receiving touchdowns. He also managed 849 receiving yards in 2017 season, which is the second-best among all Patriots’ players.
