Gronkowski retired from the NFL after the 2018 season but returned one year later to reunite with quarterback Tom Brady in Tampa Bay. However, with Brady choosing to ride off into the sunset, many believe Gronk’s time as a member of the Buccaneers is done as well.

“Going to the Celtics games,” said Gronkowski. “They would hook us up, front row. Just to go check out an NBA game, being right there on the court, was always really cool.”

The 30-year-old is set to make his TV debut as an analyst on Thursday Night Football, which will see his former team Pats going up against New York Giants.

“It all started at 20 years old on stage at the NFL draft when my dream came true, and now here I am about to turn 30 in a few months with a decision I feel is the biggest of my life so far. I will be retiring from the game of football today. I am so grateful for the opportunity that Mr. Kraft and Coach Belichick gave to me when drafting my silliness in 2010,” – he wrote before proceeding on to thank his teammates, Pats’ fans and everyone who supported him during his career.

Gronkowski discussed the possibility of retiring after the end of the 2017 NFL season when he told reporters that he will take some time and think about his future during the offseason.
