Future Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski already walked away from the NFL and then changed his mind once. Could he do it again? Absolutely no, if you ask the man himself.

Speaking about his close friend Tom Brady’s retirement on Tuesday, Gronk was asked about a wild scenario: “What if Brady changes his mind about retiring and tries to recruit him to follow him to his next stop? Would that make him want to return to football?”

“No, no. I’m done, man,” Gronkowski said with determination. “Tom is not reopening that door.”

Rob Gronkowski first retired in 2019 and spent one year away from the game before returning for the 2020 season to team up with Brady after the legendary quarterback signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Gronk and Brady delivered a Super Bowl ring to the Bucs in their first year there and reached the Divisional Round in 2021 before Gronk decided to call it a career once again.

Gronkowski officially retired as a member of the Buccaneers but would consider signing a one-day deal with the New England Patriots to retire as a member of the franchise with which he spent the first nine years of his career. New England’s owner Robert Kraft previously expressed hopes to try and get Brady to sign a one-day deal and retire as a Patriot.

“If it was offered and presented, it would definitely be a possibility,” Gronkowski shared. “I love New England. I loved my time there. I learned so much. I love Mr. Kraft. I love the whole organization, coach (Bill) Belichick, everyone.”

Tight end Rob Gronkowski made a return to Gillette Stadium on Sunday night for the first time in a couple of years. But instead of wearing the New England Patriots jersey, Gronk arrived as an “enemy” with his new team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Gronkowski spent the first nine years of his career with the Pats, winning three Super Bowls with the franchise and claiming a number of individual accolades. This is why it isn’t surprising that the 32-year-old star is fond of New England even after going to the Sunshine State of Florida.

During his recent chat with ESPN’s Mike Reiss, Gronkowski shared some of his most favorite things about the region, including restaurants, monuments, and places he liked to visit. At one point, Reiss asked him to share the thing he misses most about New England. As you might imagine, Gronk gave a classic Gronk answer.

“Going to the Celtics games,” said Gronkowski. “They would hook us up, front row. Just to go check out an NBA game, being right there on the court, was always really cool.”

Gronkowski also shared that the thing he doesn’t miss at all about New England is the weather. And you can’t blame him as the sun beats rain every time.

After winning the Super Bowl in his first year with the Bucs, Gronkowski is currently on track to have another strong season. In the first three weeks of the 2021 campaign, Gronk has 16 catches for 184 yards and team-leading four touchdowns.

Five-time Pro Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski surprised the NFL last month when he decided to come out of retirement and join Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Many people thought that Gronkowski wanted to team up with former New England Patriots’ teammate Tom Brady, but it turns out this wasn’t the main reason behind his decision.

Gronkowski recently made an appearance on the “The Ellen Show” and admitted that playing with Brady added to the appeal of dressing up for Buccaneers. However, the 31-year-old added that the biggest factor for him was the fact that his mother lives close to Tampa Bay and will be able to see him play.

“The main reason why I came down to Tampa to play is because my mother live two hours away,” Gronkowski told the host Ellen DeGeneres. “She can get to all the games, all eight of our home games. Whenever I have days off, she’s two hours down the street and I get to see her. So she’s super excited.”

You can check out Gronkowski’s full interview on The Ellen Show below.

After a highly successful nine years in NFL, during which he won three Super Bowl rings with Patriots, Rob Gronkowski shockingly announced he is retiring from football after the 2018 NFL season. At the time, Gronkowski said that the injuries took a toll on his body and went on to work as an NFL analyst and made appearances on WWE among other ventures.

However, Gronkowski’s break ended up lasting only one season, as he un-retired in April and was immediately traded to Buccs by New England for a fourth-round pick. Reportedly, Gronk was only willing to play with Brady in Tampa and would stay away from football if Pats wouldn’t honor his request.

Former New England Patriots’ tight end Rob Gronkowski kicked off his WWE career with a bang. At Wrestlemania 36, which aired on Saturday and Sunday night, Gronk won WWE 24/7 championship by pinning his friend and WWE colleague Mojo Rawley.

The WWE introduced a 24/7 championship in 2019 and made it available for grabs to anyone, regardless of their affiliation with the company. The championship can be defended and won anytime, with the only rule being that a WWE referee is present.

Gronkowski joined the WWE in March and was part of Wrestlemania 36 as a host. However, he had his eyes on the 24/7 championship belt the whole time.

On the first night of the event, Gronk tried to pin then-champion R-Truth, but Rawley got in the way and was credited with the pinning. The former NFL player didn’t give up and got his chance the second day. While Rawley was trying to fight off a group of challengers, Gronkowski used the confusion and pinned him down to claim the belt.

Watch Gronkowski win the WWE 24/7 Championship below.

Since retiring from NFL in 2018, Rob Gronkowski focused on his TV career. Besides taking part in several TV shows, including The Masked Singer, Gronk also joined the Fox Sports as football analysts and became part of the network’s Fox NFL Thursday program.

It appears that Rob Gronkowski’s retirement from NFL might not be for good as he hinted earlier. During his recent chat with ESPN, Gronkowski admitted that there is still a chance he will play football again.

Gronkowski told the magazine that he might return at some point, but that he is definitely sitting out 2019.

“I wouldn’t say ‘never coming back,'” – said Gronkowski. “I’m 30 years old. I’m young. I still stay fit, still watch the game whenever I can, still enjoy it. I’m feeling good, but you know, one year off could possibly be the case. Or maybe two years off, man.”

According to Gronkowski, the return to football remains an option and he will be ready for it if he ever changes his mind about retirement.

“It’s always an option in the back of my head.” – he added. “It’s not like I’m not staying in shape and not doing anything. I’m never stressed over it.”

Despite the fact that Rob Gronkowski is retired since March, the rumors and talks about his return never really died out. The latest one came a few weeks ago when NFL Network reported that New England Patriots’ owner Robert Kraft was pushing for Gronkowski’s return for the playoffs this year.

This isn’t a likely move, since Gronkowski would have to be activated by Week 13 in order to be eligible to play in 2019. But 2020 looks more likely now than ever.

Former New England Patriots’ Pro Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski has a new career. Fox Sports announced on Tuesday that Gronkowski signed a three-year deal with the network, and will work an NFL analyst.

Gronkowski will be part of the network’s FOX NFL Sunday pregame show, where he will join Hall of Famers Terry Bradshaw, Michael Strahan, and Tony Gonzalez among others. The 30-year-old is set to make his TV debut as an analyst on Thursday Night Football, which will see his former team Pats going up against New York Giants.

“I’m extremely excited to be joining FOX Sports,” – said Gronkowski in a statement. “For the past 25 years, they’ve offered viewers top-notch NFL programming from the field to the booth to the studio. Their deep talent roster is unmatched, which was important for me as I embark on this new chapter in my life because I’ll be able to learn from the best in the business.”

Gronkowski already received encouragement from his former teammate Tom Brady, who believes that FOX got the right guy for the job.

“He’ll be good,” – said Brady. “He’s been good at everything he’s done. I didn’t know that, that’s good for him. Good opportunity.”

Rob Gronkowski spent his entire NFL career with the New England Patriots, who drafted him in the second round of 2010 NFL Draft. During his time in the league, Gronkowski helped the Pats win three Super Bowls, while making five Pro Bowls and earning four First-Team All-Pro selections.

Gronkowski decided to retire from professional football in March, citing injuries and pain as the main reasons for his decision. His career stats include 521 receptions for 7,861 and 79 touchdowns.

While New England Patriots hope Rob Gronkowski might change his retirement decision at some point, it seems like this won’t happen anytime soon. The 30-year-old Pro Bowl tight end recently double down on his exit from professional football, saying he won’t return to NFL in “foreseeable future.”

Gronkowski, however, didn’t rule out the possibility of getting back into the action in the future.

“Maybe down the road. I have to have that passion,” – Gronkowski explained. “I have to have the fire. I’m not going to go out there and be beat the (expletive) up. That’s not the way to live.”

Rob Gronkowski’s professional career only lasted for nine years before he retired, but he is still considered one of the best tight ends in the history of the game. Since New England Patriots took him 42nd overall in 2010 NFL Draft, Gronkowski won three Super Bowls, made five Pro Bowls and earned four First-Team All-Pro honors. His NFL career stats include 521 receptions for 7,861 yards and 79 touchdowns.

Gronk announced his retirement in March, citing pain and mental health as reasons for the decision.

Gronkowski discussed the possibility of retiring after the end of the 2017 NFL season when he told reporters that he will take some time and think about his future during the offseason. Reportedly, the reason why he considered retirement were concerns about his health as he underwent three back surgeries alongside procedures on his knee and forearm. Still, he decided to have a one more go in 2018, which proved to be the right decision as he helped the Patriots win another Super Bowl.

Patriots’ owner Robert Kraft, head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady all shared statements following the news about Gronk’s retirement.

“In the nine years that I have known Rob Gronkowski, I have never known him to have a bad day,” – said Kraft in a statement. “He always has a youthful exuberance about him and is a joy to be around. As a player, he earned the respect of his coaches and teammates for his hard work, preparation, selfless attitude and the sheer dominance of his game. ‘Gronk’ quickly became a fan favorite and the most dominant player at his position for nearly a decade. I look forward to honoring him in the near future as both a Patriots and Pro Football Hall of Famer. “

“Rob’s impact on our team and organization was felt in many ways,” – added Belichick. “In the ultimate team sport, Rob was a great, great teammate. His production spoke for itself, but his daily attitude, unmistakably positive energy wherever he went and toward whoever he touched will never be forgotten. Rob will leave an indelible mark on the Patriots organization and the game as among the best, most complete players at his position to ever play.”

During his time with the New England Patriots, who took him in the second round of 2010 NFL Draft, Rob Gronkowski won three Super Bowls and made five Pro Bowl appearances. He also earned four First-team All-Pro honors while being NFL receiving touchdowns leader in 2011.

Gronkowski’s career stats include 521 reception for 7,861 yards and 79 touchdowns.

New England Patriots All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski has struggled with a back injury for several weeks and was forced to sit out three out of the team’s last four games. Fortunately for New England, it seems like those issues are behind him since Gronk told reporters that he is ready to play on Sunday against the New York Jets.

Definitely ready to get back there. I’m good to go,” – said Gronkowski on Friday. “I’m excited to be back out there with the team, and excited to get back out there on Sundays and play some ball.”

The last game Rob Gronkowski played in 2018 was the Pats’ road win against Buffalo Bills on October 30th. This means that by time Jets’ game kicks off, he is poised to be 27 days removed from competitive football. But, the 29-year-old doesn’t see this lengthy break as an issue.

I feel good. I’m ready to play. That’s all,” – he added. “I had a lot of good people to work hard with, do exercises, get everything back right and just keep on grinding every day so I can get back out there with my teammates. And that’s what it will be on Sunday.”

Rob Gronkowski played a total of seven games this season managing to catch 29 passes for 448 yards and a touchdown. The thing that worries the Patriots, however, is that this touchdown came in the season opener, putting Gronk on the longest scoring drought of his NFL career.

New England Patriots’ tight end Rob Gronkowski has been playing great in the first six games of 2018 season and already has 26 receptions and 405 receiving yards. But there is one thing Gronkowski lacks; touchdowns.

After scoring a touchdown in the season opener against Houston Texans, the 29-year-old All-Pro went on a five-game scoreless run. This is the longest period he has been without scoring since entering the league in 2010.

But Gronkowski didn’t let himself get worried about this. Instead, he will look to make himself an easy target in the red zone and get more scoring opportunities.

It is what it is,” – Gronkowski told reporters on Wednesday. “First off, I’ve got to get open. I’ve got to get out there and run better routes, and then I’ll start seeing more targets. But whatever play is called, we’re scoring points, we’re scoring down there.

Whatever I have to do to help out the team, even if the ball’s not going my way, I’ve just got to do it and just keep grinding. If I keep playing ball, keep doing what I need to do, keep playing better, I might start receiving the targets. That’s what it comes down to, so just got to get better and get open,” – he added.

Rob Gronkowski ended 2017 with eight touchdowns in 14 games played in the regular season and was one of the team’s primary targets in the red zone. This year, however, the Patriots are relying more on the running back Sony Michel to get to the red zone when inside the 10-yard line, which affected the number of times Gronkowski was targeted. Since Patriots got on a winning streak by playing this way on offense, his scoring drought could become even worse in the coming weeks.

Five-time Pro Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski surprised the NFL last month when he decided to come out of retirement and join Tampa Bay Buccaneers. “The main reason why I came down to Tampa to play is because my mother live two hours away,” Gronkowski told the host Ellen DeGeneres. “She can get to all the games, all eight of our home games. Whenever I have days off, she’s two hours down the street and I get to see her. So she’s super excited.”
