Philadelphia 76ers guard Markelle Fultz is expected to return to the team this season and play basketball after he finishes rehabilitation. This was confirmed to ESPN by Fultz’ agent Raymond Brothers, who said that there is no timetable on his client’s return.

We want to make sure he’s 100 percent and healthy when he does come back,” – Brothers said.

Markelle Fultz, who was selected No.1 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft, had troubles since coming to the NBA, struggling with his shot. After visiting several specialists over the course of the year, the 20-year-old was diagnosed with a condition called thoracic outlet syndrome. According to people from Fultz’s camp, this condition, which “affects nerves between the neck and shoulder,” severely limited “his ability to shoot a basketball.”

While Brothers says that Fultz will return to the 49ers, Philadelphia’s general manager Elton Brand recently told reporters that he is unsure about the players’ return in 2018-19 and that he will have an update in the following weeks.

Despite all the troubles surrounding Markelle Fultz since he came to the league, there are several teams that were inquiring about his availability in the past weeks. One of those teams is Detroit Pistons, who were reportedly willing to give up a first-round pick and gamble that Fultz will live up to his potential.

Fultz played a total of 33 games in the NBA, averaging 7.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.

Several reports surfaced recently saying that Philadelphia 76ers’ guard Markelle Fultz would like to leave the team and have a fresh start somewhere else. But that’s not the case according to his agent Raymond Brothers.

According to Brothers, who recently talked about the status of his client with ESPN, Fultz didn’t ask for a trade nor did he expressed a desire for one to happen.

I have given no indication to [general manager] Elton Brand or anyone else that Markelle would prefer to be traded,” – said Brothers. “My focus is to get Markelle healthy. End of story.

Markelle Fultz, who was the No.1 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, had issues with injuries and confidence in his rookie season in which he ended up playing just 14 games. His struggles continued in this season as well, and the 20-year-old ended up losing his place in the starting line-up.

Now, Fultz decided that he won’t play or practice anymore until he sees a specialist in New York that could help him sort out the issues with his right shoulder injury. This has been an injury that he struggled with since 2017 NBA Summer League, and that has reportedly affected his shoot dynamics.

Markelle Fultz played a total of 19 games for Philadelphia 76ers this season, averaging 8.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.

After struggling his entire rookie season with shooting and failing to hit a three-pointer in the first 15 games of his NBA career, Philadelphia 76ers’ guard Markelle Fultz finally got one in Thursday night’s blowout 127-108 win against the Chicago Bulls.

With nine minutes left in the fourth quarter, Fultz was left all alone behind the three-point line, with the Bulls’ players daring him to take a shot. The 20-year-old took the opportunity and drained a three-pointer to give his team a 20 points lead. The shot sent the crowd into a frenzy as if they sensed that Fultz might be getting back to his college form when he was one of the best shooters in the game.

After the game, Markelle Fultz said that “it felt good” to score his first three-pointer in the pros.

Well, I mean, a little bit,” – said Fultz when reporters asked him whether he felt relief after the shot got in. “I worked hard this summer. I shot 3s. I shot midrange. I worked on my game, so I was comfortable shooting it. I believed in it, and I thought it was going in, which it did. So it felt good.

Fultz also said that despite the shooting struggles last season, he isn’t afraid of shooting the ball and that he’ll keep on using the opportunities.

I’m never afraid,” – he added. “I worked hard this summer. Tonight I didn’t make a lot of them, but I’m going to keep shooting. If I see an open shot, I’m going to go shoot it. That’s what I work for. Tonight it didn’t fall, but eventually, it will. I am going to keep working. And if I see my teammates — you know I’ve got great teammates — I’m going to find them.

Before 2017 NBA Draft, Philadelphia 76ers identified Markelle Fultz as the missing piece of “The Process” and traded up to take him No.1 overall. It looked like a reasonable decision, considering that Fultz 23.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game while in college and had a reputation of being a talented shooter.

Still, things didn’t turn out well for the 76ers, since Fultz struggle with injured his shoulder which affected his shot. He ended up playing only 14 games in his rookie season during which he averaged 7.1 points on 40.5 percent shooting. Over the summer, he worked on his improving his shot and Philadelphia now hopes that Fultz can finally become a contributor to this talented team.
