That’s right; no player in the NBA has ever managed to reach such numbers in his career except LeBron James, and he is “only” in his 15th season in the league.

“With the long list of so many great players that have come through this league, in the history of this league, for me to be the only [person] in a category, I think it’s pretty cool,” said James after the win over the Nets on Tuesday. “It’s pretty cool. I take pride in my game. I’ve always taken pride in being a triple threat since I started playing basketball, and I never wanted to be labeled as a scorer.“

The guy managed to give the Warriors a tough time even with Matthew Dellavedova as his point guard. Why wouldn’t he be able to go through the Toronto Raptors or Boston Celtics by himself?

The Cavs general manager Koby Altman, however, didn’t want to test the capabilities of his star player to this limit. He started flipping players and draft picks, determined to clear the air in the locker room and also give James something to work with. Thomas, Crowder, Rose, Dwyane Wade, Channing Frye, and Iman Shumpert were all out of the door. Their replacements in Rodney Hood, George Hill, Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. looked just the opposite. Taller, more athletic and most importantly; younger.

Now, after watching two games of the new Cavs, it is likely that they will book another appearance in the NBA Finals, and it might not even be close. The rest of the Eastern Conference had a shot to make some problems to James before this overhaul. Now, they will have to wait for James to retire or to go to Western Conference (San Antonio Spurs preferably) for NBA Finals appearance to be realistic.

In those two games, it looked like the Cavaliers game had more flow although the new players only had half of a practice together. Then, Cavs looked dangerous in all aspects of the game including fast breaks, scoring in the paint, and behind the 3pt arc. Also, the team looked happy playing together. There was no Isaiah Thomas frowning because James has a ball in his hands, or Crowder’s game sinking into the oblivion with each passing minute. These new players are willing to accept lesser roles, knowing that LeBron James is the boss and best player on every basketball court he steps on. Finally, and most importantly, LeBron James looked engaged once again. He was cheering his teammates, tossing fist bumps here and there, and was genuinely looking to get these guys incorporated into the team. James just got some fresh blood to accompany him on this crusade, and that’s the last thing his opponents wanted.

Now, does this Cavaliers team have a chance against the Golden State Warriors?
It might not be so far-fetched. But let’s not jump to conclusion.

We are half a year away from that moment, but the free agency of LeBron James is still one of the hottest topics in the NBA. But, none of these options are good for him. The King should go to the San Antonio Spurs and get that GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) label he dreams about.

What is LeBron James chasing at this moment? The shadow of Michael Jordan, who is currently considered the greatest basketball player of all time. In order for James to catch it, he needs more rings. He won’t get that in Cleveland but in San Antonio? That would be an entirely different story. With Gregg Popovich as coach and Kawhi Leonard as his sidekick, James would cruise to at least three more NBA titles. No disrespect to Tyron Lue or Erik Spoelstra, but they are not all-time greats. LeBron needs an opportunity to be coached by one of the best coaches in the history of the game. MJ had always had that advantage over LeBron. Without Phil Jackson in Chicago, Jordan spent first three years of his professional career being eliminated in the First Round of the playoffs.

There are plenty of positives for LeBron in case he makes the move. He would be a part of a functional, well-oiled machine that always wants to win, opposite to the mess he is now in. He wouldn’t have to guard the opponent’s best player every night, Kawhi could do that. Also, if there is a coach that can find an answer to the offensive explosiveness of the Warriors, that is Pop. Popovich makes average players good and good players great. Imagine what he could do with a transcendent player of James’ caliber. Finally, other top free agents would follow LeBron to the Spurs. Playing with Kawhi didn’t draw people to San Antonio so far, but Kawhi and The King combo would certainly do the trick.

The negatives are that the Spurs would have to gut their bench in order to get LeBron. The King wants to be the GOAT but not so much that he would be willing to get a hefty pay cut. Also, James wouldn’t have the influence on the front office he has in Cleveland. There is no one above the Spurs organization.

As you see, the positives overpower the negatives, but unfortunately, it is highly unlikely that LeBron James will leave Cleveland. Although he should. He brought them their first NBA championship and three straight NBA finals trips. The King doesn’t owe them anything anymore.

You could expect from many players to get ejected from an NBA game, but never from LeBron James. Yet, that is just what happened on Tuesday night in Cleveland Cavaliers’ win against the Miami Heat. To make things more interesting, it was the first ejection in James’ career. To put things in perspective, The King is currently in his 15^th NBA season and has played 1082 regular season games and 217 playoff games.

In the third quarter of the game against the Heat, James was driving to the basket and drew contact from James Johnson and Dion Waiters. The officials remained silent, which ticked off James, who thought he deserved a foul. After making gestures and saying something to the referee Kane Fitzgerald, James received a technical and was out of the game.

 “On that particular play I got fouled all the way up the court, from the time that I stripped him (Johnson) all the way until I got to the rim, and so that’s what it’s about,” – said James about the ejection. ”I said what I had to say and I moved on, but he (Fitzgerald) thought that I should get two of them, so it is … we got the win and that’s most important.”

James added that he thinks he doesn’t get calls from the referees and isn’t on the free throw line as often as he should.

Fitzgerald, on the other hand, said he ejected James due to his aggressive behavior and vulgarities.

”It was a culmination of a couple different acts,” – Fitzgerald told to a reporter. ”Immediately after the no-call, he turned and threw an air punch directly at me and then he aggressively charged at me and then he used vulgarity in my ear a few times.”

After a rough start of the season, Cleveland Cavaliers are currently on a nine-game winning streak, with LeBron James statistically playing one of the best seasons in his life.
