This would be the power forward’s first Lakers game in five and a half weeks after suffering a fractured bone spur and stress reaction in his right foot.

In an effort to ease him back into the sport and ensure a smooth recovery, the Lakers will restrict his playing time to 20 to 24 minutes, with medical personnel predicting that Davis will be on a recovery timeline of 8 to 10 weeks.

Davis has been sorely missed by his Lakers’ teammates, who have struggled to find form since his injury, going 10-10 during his absence. Now, the Lakers sit 13th in the Western Conference standings, far from attaining a playoff spot.

The team explained that the All-Star power forward is continuing to make progress in his recovery, with much of the pain in his right foot being alleviated along the way.
