Kevin Durant missed out on the Phoenix Suns’ 110-89 in-season tournament win against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday due to right foot soreness. While the Suns’ talisman has suffered numerous injury setbacks in previous seasons, this is the first game of the current season that Durant has missed.

Durant has proven to be a critical factor in the success of the Suns’ offense this season, averaging 31.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 15 games. On Wednesday, the 35-year-old player scored 32 points and eight rebounds in the 123-115 triumph over the Golden State Warriors.

Joining the 13-time All-Star and four-time scoring champion on the sidelines during Friday’s win was Drew Eubanks with a left ankle sprain, Bradley Beal with a lower back strain, Damion Lee, who underwent right meniscus surgery, and Yuta Watanabe, with a left quad contusion.

The Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant will have to wait longer to make his home debut for his new team after he was ruled out of his team’s 132-101 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night.

Durant slipped and injured his ankle during the pregame warmup, leading to his being ruled out of the game. After undergoing an MRI on Thursday, it was determined that Durant would be sidelined for at least the next two to three weeks.

“I feel bad for him because he feels bad,” Suns head coach Monty Williams said of Durant’s injury situation. “I saw his face and — I’ve been around him so many times — I know what he’s feeling, and I don’t want him feeling that way at all.”

Since joining the Suns from the Brooklyn Nets before the recent trade deadline, Durant has appeared in three games, all on the road. The new Suns star averaged 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists during these games, shooting 69% as Phoenix emerged as victors on all three occasions. Durant has shot the highest field goal percentage in a player’s first three games with a team in NBA history when a minimum of 40 attempts were made.

Kevin Durant’s debut for the Phoenix Suns has been delayed as he entered the final stages of his injury return with a knee issue. The Suns are set to face the Oklahoma City Thunder in a home game on Friday night.

Durant took part in the entirety of the Suns’ two-hour workout and scrimmage following the All-Star break, however, the team did not want to risk him during the game against the Thunder while he still harbors an injury. Currently, the Suns consider him to be day-to-day. That being said, Sunday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks remains a possibility.

Although absent through injury, praise has been rolling in for Durant from his new teammates after he participated in a 5-on-5 workout.

“When guys watch him work, I think it’s something that inspires people to get after it in their own workouts,” coach Monty Williams observed. “Because they’re not going to find anybody that goes as hard as Kevin. When he’s doing his individual stuff it’s amazing to watch.”

Williams noted that the workout that Durant participated in was the longest and most intense since the training camp during the summer.

Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant left his team’s 102-101 win over the Miami Heat after picking up a right knee injury during the third quarter. Nets coach Jacque Vaughn confirmed that Durant is due to undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.

Durant went down with 1:05 left on the clock in the third quarter after Jimmy Butler fell back into Durant’s knee after getting his shot blocked by Ben Simmons. After staying on the ground for a few seconds, Durant picked himself up and continued with the game.

After attempting to persist with the game, Durant was spotted continuing to rub his knee, with the Nets calling a timeout 30 seconds later. It was at that time that Durant was taken out of the game.

“He’s in good spirits as we all are,” teammate Kyrie Irving confirmed. “The strength of our team is us picking each other up. Just being ready for whatever’s thrown at us. … I think one of the greatest qualities of our team is our bench and the way we support each other, despite who’s in the lineup.”

Brooklyn is in fiery form as of late, having won 18 of the last 20 games.

Kevin Durant injured his left knee during his team’s 120-105 over the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday. The Brooklyn Nets forward collided with teammate Bruce Brown late in the second quarter, after Brown was knocked in midair by Pelicans guard Herb Jones.

While Durant attempted to continue playing after the clash, he eventually had to call it a night, coming off of the court in the fourth quarter and promptly exiting the Barclays Center. On the evening of the win, the Nets referred to the injury as a “sprain”.

“No one wants to see that [Durant’s injury] and we’ll obviously hope for the best outcome, but regardless of the outcome, we have to continue to work, build and grow and get better and compete,” Nets coach Steve Nash commented after his team’s victory. Durant is scheduled to undergo an MRI scan on Sunday in order to determine the severity of his injury.

According to Nets guard James Harden, Durant’s injury is yet another setback after what has been a challenging time for the team in terms of the high volume of COVID cases and injuries that they have endured. “It’s simple. Obviously, we know how great of a player KD is and what he brings to the table each and every night consistently. So guys got to step up and fill that role and just continue to compete our butts off.”

Not even a sore shoulder could stop Kevin Durant against his former team the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday night. He managed to put up 33 points while adding eight rebounds and four assists to lead the Brooklyn Nets to a convincing 120-96 win.

Durant revealed he has shoulder issues while chatting with reporters after the game but downplayed the severity of the situation.

“It’s solid,” Durant said via ESPN when asked about the injury. “A little sore here and there, but I played, didn’t get in the way too much. Keep getting treatment and take it a day at a time.”

The Nets’ head coach Steve Nash described Durant’s injury as “a little tweak” and said that the team doesn’t expect it to be an issue moving forward.

“I don’t think it’s the type of thing that we expect to get worse so he’s kind of playing through it, so it’s not terrible,” Nash added.

Kevin Durant has put together an MVP-worthy season in 2021-22 and currently averages 29.6 points per game. He is also contributing with career-high 8.4 boards while shooting an impressive 58.6 percent from the field and 42.4 from deep.

Durant’s performances helped Brooklyn to turn around their ugly start of the season and have the team on a three-game winning streak. The Nets are second in the East with a 10-4 record at the moment.

In only his fifth game back in action after being sidelined for multiple games with a hamstring injury, Brooklyn Nets superstar forward Kevin Durant was sidelined yet again.

This time, he suffered an injury on his left thigh, and this took place in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Miami Heat.

Durant had been driving hard to the basket looking to score when his knee apparently corralled hard into Heat forward Trevor Ariza. The Nets superstar didn’t fall to the ground, but he was forced to leave the game nonetheless.

After being examined by a team trainer, he left to the locker game to be evaluated further.

When asked about his status, Brooklyn head coach Steve Nash told reporters, “He’s sore, but we don’t know how severe. We’ll see tomorrow how he wakes up and go from there. But right now nothing’s been determined.”

With no Kevin Durant, the Nets were still able to keep the game close—but they ultimately lost 107-109 to the defending Eastern Conference Champions.

If Durant doesn’t return for another long stretch of games, this will be a stunning blow to Brooklyn and its fans. He’s already missed a fair amount of games this season, and it was nice to see him finally take the floor again. This is, of course, on top of the fact that he missed the entire season last year.

Nevertheless, as long as Durant is back healthy for the playoffs, the Nets should be in good shape.

Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant won’t return to action anytime soon. Durant, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, has been ruled out indefinitely, according to his head coach Steve Nash.

While talking to reporters on Wednesday, Nash said that Durant needs to undergo further tests on his hamstring and is potentially looking at a lengthy break.

“We were expecting the potential for this to be a month or whatever it may be,” Nash told the media. “So who knows? Who knows what the scan says? Who knows where this takes us and how soon he’s back?”

Nash added that the Nets would be “very cautious” with Durant moving forward and won’t rush him back until he’s fully ready.

Durant initially missed three games in early February before returning in a 134-117 win over the Golden State Warriors with a 20-point, five-rebound, and six-assist performance.

However, the 31-year-old superstar was shut down again after the game and hasn’t played since. He missed the 2021 All-Star game as well despite being the captain of his team.

After missing the last season with an Achilles tear, Kevin Durant made a triumphant return in 2020-21. He was the Nets’ best player when on the court, averaging 29.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists. The issue, however, is that he only managed to play 19 games so far.

Brooklyn can afford to give Durant more time to recover, especially since they have All-Stars Kyrie Irving and James Harden playing at a high level. They are currently second in Eastern Conference with a 24-13 record and one game behind the leading Philadelphia 76ers.

Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant won’t be able to participate in this year’s All-Star Game. Durant, who was set to captain the East team, is dealing with a strained hamstring, according to the official announcement, and is set to be out around two weeks.

Durant will be replaced on the Eastern Conference pool of All-Stars by Indiana Pacers forward Domantas Sabonis.

The All-Star invite for Sabonis, which is his second in a row, isn’t a surprise considering he has been averaging a career-high 21.4 points and 5.9 assists to go with 11.4 rebounds so far this season.

The NBA also announced that the Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum was named a starter in this year’s All-Star game. Tatum was initially supposed to be a reserve, but will now take Durant’s place in the starting five.

Despite his absence off the court, Kevin Durant will keep his captain duties. He will get to draft his team that will be facing off against LeBron James from the All-Star pool, although it remains to be seen whether the 32-year-old star will actually make the trip to Atlanta and be present at State Farm Arena.

Durant strained his hamstring in early February and has since missed nine games. He is currently averaging 29 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game for the No. 2-seeded Brooklyn Nets.

Kevin Durant made a triumphant return on Tuesday night after missing the previous 18 months due to an ACL injury. In his Brooklyn Nets competitive debut, Durant scored 22 points in 25 minutes of play to lead the team to a blowout 125-99 win over the Golden State Warriors.

Despite the long break, Durant seemed comfortable on the court, draining jumpers, getting to the rim, and not being afraid of contact. He was also a pest on the defensive end of the ball, finishing the night with three steals, one block, and four defensive rebounds.

Durant had huge help from Kyrie Irving, who was also coming off an injury that prematurely ended his 2019-20 season. Irving drained 26 points while adding four assists.

Thanks to Durant and Irving’s play, Brooklyn was never in danger of losing control of the game. They had a 15-point lead after the first quarter and continued to build on that, which enabled them to rest most of the starters in the fourth quarter.

Speaking with reporters after the game, Durant didn’t want to focus on his return or the fact that he got the win against his former team. Instead, the 32-year-old superstar said he just enjoyed a positive start of the season and hopes the team will be able to build on it and have a successful run.

“I think we had a solid first start,” said Durant. “So we want to build on it. I was looking forward to coming out here and getting a ‘W,’ and I was glad we were able to come out and finish the job.”
