Veteran wideout Dez Bryant won’t suit up for the Baltimore Ravens. At least, not in the near future.

Bryant, who hasn’t played since 2017, spent the previous couple days working out for Ravens in hopes of landing a deal for the upcoming season. According to reports from NFL Network, however, the visit hasn’t been fruitful.

Baltimore decided not to sing Bryant for the time being, although the organization didn’t exclude revisiting the possibility at some later date.

Ravens tried to sign Bryant back in 2018 after the three-time Pro Bowler got released by the Dallas Cowboys but got rejected. At the time, Bryant didn’t want to commit to a multi-year contract as he was looking to prove himself on a short-term deal. He ended up joining New Orleans Saints but suffered Achilles tendon injury, which caused him to past two seasons.

Reportedly, Ravens opted against signing Bryant as they believe in the young receiving core. Baltimore’s WR depth chart includes last year’s picks Marquise Brown and Miles Boykin, veteran Willie Snead and 2020’s third-round selection Devin Duvernay.

It is unclear whether there is interest from other teams in Bryant, who has 531 receptions for 7,459 yards and 73 touchdowns since entering the league in 2010.

Is it possible for Dallas Cowboys and wideout Dez Bryant to reunite after two seasons apart? Well, Cowboys’ owner and general manager Jerry Jones certainly thinks so.

Bryant has been out of the league for the past two years, recovering from a torn Achilles tendon. However, the 31-year-old is determined to make a comeback, and a familiar place like Dallas could be the perfect spot for this. And it turns out that this option is more probable than people initially thought.

Speaking with reporters on Thursday, Jones was asked about Bryant’s return to the franchise where he spent the eight years of his career and gave an interesting answer.

“I’ve been thinking about it a lot in the shower,” said Jones. “I have been. I’m not dismissing it. I don’t want to sound like it should be dismissed by saying it. I’m thinking about it.”

During his time with the Cowboys, Dez Bryant made three Pro Bowls and one First-Team All-Pro while setting the franchise record in receiving touchdowns with 73. Jones, however, decided to cut Bryant following the 2017 NFL season due to his big salary and diminishing production.

After sitting most of 2018, Bryant signed with the New Orleans Saints, becoming a part of a team that had real chances of making it to Super Bowl. However, he ended up getting injured in his first practice with Saints and hasn’t played football since then.

It’s believed that Bryant is now fully recovered, but there are questions if he can be an impactful player after two years away from the sport. We’ll now have to wait and see whether he’ll get a chance to answer then and will it be in Cowboys’ jersey.

Can you believe that former All-Pro wide receiver Dez Bryant is still without a team? Bryant was released by the Dallas Cowboys in April, and after four weeks of football in 2018, he is still without a job.

Although he had offers from several teams, including the Baltimore Ravens and the Cleveland Browns, the 29-year-old decided to reject them, saying that he is waiting for a “right fit.” It turns out that the “right fit” would be returning to Cowboys.

Following a question from one fan about his next destination, Dez Bryant responded that he would “rather it be the Dallas Cowboys,” but if that doesn’t turn out to be the case, he’ll be “ready to play somewhere else.”

When you think about it, the idea of Dez Bryant coming back to Dallas Cowboys doesn’t sound so crazy. Cowboys badly need a wide receiver, given the fact that they are currently ranked 30th in the league. Their leading receiver is Cole Beasley, who managed to catch 16 passes for 185 yards, while wide receiver Tavon Austin, tight end Geoff Swain and running back Ezekiel Elliott are the only players on the team that has managed to catch a touchdown pass.

On the other side, Bryant, who is the best available WR on the market, looks like he doesn’t want to leave Dallas after spending eight years there. It is strange that a player of his caliber doesn’t have a contract yet, so it wouldn’t be out of the question that he is undermining talks with other teams so he would receive another chance in Dallas.

Since getting drafted by Cowboys in the first round of 2010 NFL Draft, Dez Bryant played 113 regular season games, and managed to catch 531 passes for 7,459 yards and 73 touchdowns.

With most NFL teams preparing to enter training camp, former Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant still hasn’t found a job in the league. Now he might find one in Cleveland.

Cleveland Browns suddenly became in need of a WR after Josh Gordon decided to miss training camp and focus on his health, and backup Ricardo Louis was ruled out for the season after neck surgery. This was when Browns started discussing the possibility of adding Dez Bryant according to general manager John Dorsey.

Have we had discussions about Dez Bryant?” – Dorsey told reporters ahead of the first day of training camp. “Yeah, that’s natural. You’re going to have discussions like that. Now, we’ll see what comes to fruition in the next couple days, but we’ve talked about it.

Dorsey went on to add that he had a chance to get to know Bryant and that he considers him a very talented player.

I’ve had a chance to be around Dez,” – he said. “I’ve known Dez. I got a chance, when he was down there at Lufkin, Texas, I actually went to his workout and got a chance to meet him down there. I know what kind of person he is and what makes him. He’s a very talented player.

At one point in his career, Dez Bryant was considered one of the most talented wide receivers in the league and an All-Pro caliber player. From 2012 to 2014, Bryant had more than 1,200 receiving yards and more than 12 touchdowns each year. Still, he suffered a foot injury in 2015 and never managed to return to this level of play. His lower production alongside a big contract and several off-field issues caused the Cowboys to released Bryant on April 13, 2018, after he spent eight seasons with the franchise.

Wide receiver Dez Bryant is still on the market after being released by the Dallas Cowboys on April 13. According to ESPN, Bryant had a multiyear offer from the Baltimore Ravens on the table but decided to reject it. Sources close to the 28-year-old said that he wants a one year deal, so he can prove himself in the 2018 season and ask for a more lucrative long-term deal in 2019.

Ravens have been interested in Dez Bryant since the 2010 NFL draft when they had a shot to take him 25th overall. Still, Cowboys traded up three spots and snatched him 24th overall. Sports Illustrated reports that Ravens immediately started talks with Bryant after his release from Cowboys, but the two sides couldn’t reach an agreement. After that, the team turned to former New Orleans Saints WR Willie Snead, signing him instead.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported earlier in the week that Bryant will sign with a new team after the 2018 NFL draft. The player himself stated that he is looking for a team that would be a good fit for him and that the finances won’t play the deciding role. He also added that he hopes to stay in NFC East, so he could play against the Cowboys twice a year.

It won’t be about the money,” – Bryant told 247Sports. “It won’t be about ‘market value.’ No. No. Not at all. I’m kinda hoping it’s an NFC East team. If it’s somewhere else, that’s fine. But I’d like to play the Cowboys twice.

Dez Bryant has been struggling with production in the last several years after having three consecutive seasons with more than 1,000 receiving yards from 2012 to 2014. He finished the 2017 season playing in all 16 games and managing 69 receptions for 838 yards and six touchdowns.

Although there have been lots of rumors that Dallas Cowboys could move on from wide receiver Dez Bryant, no one actually thought this will happen. Well, it happened. The Cowboys have announced on Friday that they have release Bryant after the player had a meeting with the team’s owner and general manager Jerry Jones.

Jerry Jones issued a statement shortly after the news was confirmed:

As an organization, we hold Dez Bryant in the highest regard, and we are grateful for his passion, spirit and contributions to this team for the past eight years. He will always be a valued member of our family.

Dez and I share a personal and professional relationship that is very strong, and he is one of just a handful of players with whom I have become that close to over the past 30 years.

This was not an easy decision. It was made based upon doing what we believe is in the best interest of the Dallas Cowboys.

We arrived at this crossroad collectively with input from several voices within the organization. Ultimately we determined it was time to go in a new direction.

ESPN reports that Cowboys didn’t discuss a possible pay-cut before releasing Dez Bryant, a move that will save them $8 million against the cap in 2018. The 29-year-old, who was the first round pick in 2010 NFL draft, signed a five-year, $70 million contract in 2015 but didn’t produce accordingly. He never came close to 90 catches, 1,200 receiving yards, and 13 touchdowns; numbers he averaged from 2012 through 2014. During his seven years in the NFL, Dez Bryant had three Pro Bowl appearances, received First-team All-Pro once and was NFL receiving touchdowns leader in 2014 with 16.

Dez Bryant hasn’t been playing at his usual level for some time now. In his last 22 games for the Dallas Cowboys, the 29-year-old wide receiver didn’t manage to cross the 100 receiving yards mark. In 2017 season alone, Bryant had eight games in which he had less than five catches and nine games when he had less than 60 yards receiving. This isn’t ideal for a player that is set to earn $12.5 million in 2018. As it turns out, Bryant isn’t keen on giving up the money just because he underperformed lately. Asked whether he would think about reconstructing his deal in the next year, he dismissed such option.

I haven’t heard no talk about that but if it comes, I don’t know, probably not,” – said Bryant. “Hell naw, man. I believe in me.

Commenting on his poor play lately, Bryant said that he allowed some personal and professional things impact on his performances on the pitch. He also said that Cowboys’ heavy running offensive scheme has also played a part in the drop of his numbers.

I don’t know, but if that came about, I’m still Dez Bryant,” – he said about the possibility of playing for another team. “I’m still going over the top. If it’s there where I can grab it, I’m going to grab it. That’s who I am.

Although Dez Bryant was considered the top wide receiver prospect in the 2010 NFL Draft, teams were reluctant of taking him with a high pick due to “character concerns”. He was eventually selected by the Dallas Cowboys with the 24th pick. His best performances came from 2012 to 2014, when he had more than 1,200 receiving yards and more than 12 receiving touchdowns each season. In 2014 he was named First-team All-Pro and was NFL receiving touchdowns leader with 16 touchdowns. During his NFL career, he was selected three times for Pro-Bowl.
