Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been traded to the New York Jets, sources confirmed on Monday. Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst gave few details on the impending deal, simply explaining to reporters that there were still some remaining details that needed to be worked out. He explained that Rodgers is still to take his physical with the Jets.

Gutekunst stressed the urgency of getting the Rodgers’ deal done before the draft. “It wouldn’t have been the end of the world,” Gutenkunst said, before continuing: “But at the same time, I think it would have certainly changed things quite a bit. So, getting it done was important. I just think certainly the capital for this year was very important, certainly more valuable than future stuff, for our football team. So, there were a number of reasons, but that’s why.”
