Ravens’ Robert Griffin III hasn’t started more than seven games since 2013, his second year in the NFL, and has been a full-time lineup for Baltimore the past two years. Despite this, Griffin doesn’t want to spend the rest of his career as a backup and he plans to become a started in the NFL.

Griffin signed with the Ravens in 2018 after spending a year out of the league. Since playing with the Ravens, he went from being a third-string QB to the primary backup of 2019’s MVP Lamar Jackson. The 30-year-old player dreams of more opportunities in the future.

“I do want to be a starter again,” Griffin said during a recent appearance on Matt Mosley Show. “I’m 30 years old. Quarterbacks are playing into their 40s now. There’s a lot of time left to still go achieve all the dreams and goals I set for myself.”

Griffin also talked about his amazing experience in Baltimore so far, “It’s been an amazing experience being in Baltimore. A top-notch, first-class organization. They take care of their players. They understand the importance of taking care of the quarterbacks and surround the quarterback with guys and people that will help them grow. I’m a part of that. I’m a part of that for Lamar (Jackson), helping him grow, helping him see the game, helping him continue to get better every single day.”

For most of his career, Griffin was a starter, making 35 starts with the Washington Redskins between 2012 and 2014. His career stats include 63.1 competition percentage alongside 9,229 passing yards and 43 touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,740 yards and 10 TDs.

After six seasons with Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach, U.S international Fabian Johnson is ending his time with the German club. On Monday, Borussia Monchengladbach announced that Johnson’s contract was set to expire this summer and they won’t be extending his contract.

Monchengladbach will also be losing Tobias Strobl this summer after he agreed to a deal with FC Augsburg.

Max Eberl, the club’s sporting director, confirmed the news in a statement for Borussia’s social media. “Tobias Strobl has informed us that he would like to join FC Augsburg at the end of the season. We have also reached an agreement together with Fabian Johnson to let his contract run out.”

Johnson’s been with Borussia Monchengladbach since 2014 and has played 140 games, scoring 15 goals. During his first few seasons with the club, he was a valuable player, but in recent seasons he’s lost his spot in the starting lineup. In 2019/20 he only played seven games which surely impacted the club’s decision not to renew his contract.

There have been rumors that Johnson might come to MLS as a few teams have been interested in the 32-year-old player for a while. FC Cincinnati was interested in him, but the move never happened. It’s also possible that Johnson might play for the USMNT again; he last played with the U.S. national team in 2017 and was seen having talks with head coach Greg Berhalter about coming back to the club.

UFC star Conor McGregor has announced his retirement via a social media post over the weekend.

McGregor’s last fight was in January at the UFC 246 where he defeated Donald Cerrone via TKO. Over the past few months, he was mentioned in fight scenarios including the one against former middleweight champion Anderson Silva and the rematch against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

On Sunday he confirmed his retirement with ESPN saying that he lost the excitement in fighting, “The game just does not excite me, and that’s that.”

“All this waiting around. There’s nothing happening. I’m going through opponent options, and there’s nothing really there at the minute. There’s nothing that’s exciting me,” he continued.

However, this isn’t the first time the fighter has announced his retirement. Back in March 2016, he “retired” only to return to fight in UFC a few months later and in April 2019 he made a similar announcement during negotiations regarding his comeback.

McGregor ends his career with a 22-4 record, a UFC Featherweight Championship, and a UFC Lightweight Championship. He was the first fighter to hold both weight titles at the same time.

Although Canadian winger Robby Fabbri has been with the Detroit Red Wings for less than one season, he hopes to have a long future with them.

Fabbri came to Detroit in November from the St. Louis Blues and he’ll be a restricted free agent in the offseason and he hasn’t started contract negotiations with the Red Wings. If he gets a good offer, Fabbri is prepared to accept it.

“Everything has been great since the first day I came to Detroit,” the 24-year-old player told The Detroit News on Wednesday. “It’s a great organization, great group of guys, a great opportunity here, so it’s definitely a place I want to be and play for as long as I can… I was able to rejuvenate my career and they gave me a chance. I couldn’t be happier.”

Fabbri finally managed to get his career back on track since arriving in Detroit; he suffered several injury-riddled seasons with the Blues. While with the Red Wings from 2019/2020 he played 52 games and scored 14 goals and 17 assists which makes this season his best since 2015/2016.

“I was able to rejuvenate my career and they gave me a chance. I couldn’t be happier,” he added.

Unfortunately, Fabbri won’t be able to add to his resume in 2019/2020 because the Red Wings have a 17-49-5 record and didn’t qualify for the Stanley Cup playoffs. The NHL has decided to resume its activities by ending the regular season and going straight to the postseason with 22 teams and an in-play tournament.

Back in 2014, Fabbri was a first-round pick and he has played in 216 NHL games, scoring 46 goals and 58 assists. He won a Stanley Cup with the Blues last season.

To date, Super Bowl LIV was one of the most exciting Super Bowls as the Kansas City Chiefs had a major comeback in the fourth quarter to defeat the San Fransico 49ers 31-20.

Not only did they take the win, but this was also Kansas City’s first win in 50 years and their third Super Bowl championship—they won in 1962 and 1969.

Led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the youngest quarterback to win Superbowl MVP and a Super Bowl title at 24-years-old, by the fourth quarter, the Chiefs navigated the 49ers defensive pressure with Mahomes’ two long touchdown passes that led to their victory.

About the win, Mahomes said, “We never lost faith,” Mahomes said. “That’s the biggest thing. Everybody on this team, no one had their head down. We believed in each other.”

The Chiefs were also the first team in NFL history to win three games after trailing by 10-or-more points in a single postseason.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid scored his first Super Bowl Ring as head coach! “This is what it’s all about,” Reid said. “What a great team, great coaches. Appreciate every bit of it.”
