Although there were reports that LA Galaxy was close to bringing Zlatan Ibrahimovic to MLS, it looks like “Ibra” has other plans. The rumors of him signing a new contract with Manchester United have been circling in the preseason, but have intensified recently. ESPN reports that multiple sources confirmed Zlatan’s stay at Old Trafford is a certain thing. Both Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho and Zlatan have previously expressed a desire to make this happen, but the only problem was Zlatan’s knee injury. Mourinho said they “were not in a hurry” and that they will address the situation after Zlatan recovers. Ibrahimovic’s contract expired in June, and he has been a free agent ever since. Although many clubs wanted to sign him despite the injury, it looks like Zlatan has his mind set on Manchester.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic suffered a knee ligament injury in April in Europa League clash against Anderlecht, which supposed to keep him from the pitch until early 2018. However, Zlatan looks to be recovering much faster than anticipated and the new contract could be on the table this week if he proves he is back to full fitness. The terms of the contract are still unknown, but according to Daily Star, Ibrahimovic will have to take a big pay-cut compared to his last contract which saw him earning close to $400,000 a week.

In his first season at the club, Zlatan managed to make a great impact. He impressed the fans with 28 goals but also had a big influence in the dressing room. Although Zlatan was the first choice for striker position last season, that won’t be the case in 2017/2018. Manchester United signed Romelu Lukaku who already scored 3 goals, and proved to be an excellent choice up front.Still, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a magnificent player and he will certainly find a way to make an impact once again.
