The Russians from Zenit St. Petersburg haven’t been very active during this transfer window but now they are catching up with the rest by bringing a very significant player to their team – Malcom! The Russian club had been showing interest in the player for quite some time but the negotiation process was going pretty slow.

Reportedly, the negotiations are over with both sides coming to an agreement. Spanish media have reported that the club from St. Petersburg will pay a stunning fee of $44.3 million for Malcom, with the possibility of $5.5 million in add-ons for Barcelona’s Malcom. The 22-year-old rising star will be inking a contract that will keep him in Zenit for the next five years.

This move comes rather surprising because the young winger has been part of Barcelona only for a year and he had four more years to play for the club. The La Liga club acquired him in 2018 from the French club Bordeaux for a fee of $45.4 million. Even though the young player didn’t have a lot of chances to appear on the field for Barcelona, he managed to score four goals and one of them was the famous goal that leads to a draw with Real Madrid.
