New York Yankees completed a four-game sweep after defeating Baltimore Orioles 5-3 on Sunday.

Luke Voit hit his third long ball of the series after completing a two-run in a game the Baltimore Orioles lost their eighth game in a row. The match was the Yankees’ fourth consecutive win. But it was not just any other win. Six games closer to faltering the Red Sox, the New York-based team can now dare to dream.

The Red Sox had a chance to extend their lead at the top. But after the recent three-game losing streak, including a loss Tampa, they stand to give away their lead to the Yankees any time from now.

Starter Luis Severino had a stellar performance on Sunday after earning his league-best 17th win. His best strike flew at 99 mph, the second at 98 mph and a third at 99 in a night manager Aaron Boone described as Severino’s “best he’s had.”

While it’s possible the Yankees could upsurge the Red Sox, they have a huge mountain to climb at Tropicana Field where they’ve averaged just 1-5 this season. Boston faces weaker teams onward and they’re yet to face Baltimore and the Blue Jays. The two teams will face off from 18th to 29th September, a date you may want to mark in your calendar.
