FC Barcelona, who set out this summer on a mission to sell some of its key players as it looks to turn the page on a majorly disappointing 2019-20 season, appears to have found a buyer for right-back Nelson Semedo.

Semedo, who has featured as one of the team’s two main right-backs in recent seasons along with Sergi Roberto, is reportedly on the move to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League for a reported $42 million fee.

The 26-year-old RB was equal parts talented and inconsistent during his time at Barcelona. In his three seasons with the Catalan club, he managed two goals and 7 assists in 82 games of league play.

The Portuguese right-back, who began his career with Benfica before moving onto the Blaugrana, will meet up with Portuguese head coach Nuno Espirito Santo and a wide range of his countrymen on the roster.

Wolves have high hopes for the 2020-21 season as they look to build on a 7th place finish in the Premier League last year. After spending on players such as Semedo and Fabio Silva this summer, the team will have European qualification hopes as they embark on their third straight season in England’s top flight.

The Semedo signing is expected to become official over the next week.
