The Minnesota Wild announced on Monday that their forward Mason Shaw suffered a torn ACL in his right knee and will be out for the remainder of the season. This is Shaw’s fourth time that he has been dealing with the same injury.

Shaw tore his ACL during the 4-1 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday. The injury was a result of him crashing hard into the boards early in the first period.

While Wild players and coaches were devastated to see Shaw go down, they have no doubts that he will manage to make another comeback. The team’s head coach Dean Evason certainly believes that.

“Billy (Guerin) asks young players all the time, ‘Will you do anything to play in the National Hockey League? Anything,’” said Evason. “And Mason Shaw epitomizes that. He did everything and anything to play in the (NHL), and he will again.”

Mason Shaw was the Wild’s 97th pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. Shaw spent his early years with the organization with AHL affiliate Iowa Wild before being handed his NHL debut last season.

The 24-year-old player had a prominent role in 2022-23, playing in 59 games and contributing with seven goals and 10 assists for a total of 17 points.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
