The Minnesota Wild inked veteran forward duo Mats Zuccarello and Marcus Foligno to new deals. The team announced on Friday that Zuccarello received a two-year extension while Foligno was rewarded with a four-year extension.

Zuccarello had one year left on his old deal that comes with a $6 million salary in 2023-24. His new extension is worth a $8.25 million contract overall.

Foligno, on the other hand, is set to earn $3.1 million in base salary this upcoming season. The new deal will guarantee him $4 million annually in each of the following four years after that.

“Both are different players but equally as important,” said Wild coach Dean Evason in a chat with reporters on Saturday. “And both clearly leaders in our locker room and great people so we’re excited that they both got extensions.”

Zuccarello signed with the Wild ahead of the 2019–20 season as a free agent. Since then, he played 255 games with the franchise, contributing 72 goals and 146 assists for a total of 218 points.

Foligno has been in Minnesota since 2017–18, arriving in a trade from the Buffalo Sabres. He has 156 points in 396 games during his six seasons with the Wild.
