Despite only being suspended indefinitely from the NFL last December, it appears that wide receiver Martavis Bryant is going to attempt to come back to the league.

Bryant told Dan Graziano of ESPN that his plan is to apply for reinstatement “in the coming weeks” in order to return to the National Football League.

The former Steelers and Raiders wide receiver was suspended for the third time in the last four seasons in December of 2018 after violating the conditions of his previous reinstatement.

Bryant’s previous suspensions have been related to the use of recreational drugs.

The Steelers traded Bryant to Oakland for a third round pick in April of last year. Before going on injured reserve due to a knee injury, the former Clemson wideout caught 19 passes for 266 yards on a struggling Oakland team.

Despite being suspended during the 2016 season, Bryant was a productive pass catcher in 3 seasons with Pittsburgh before moving to Oakland. Bryant combined for 1,917 receiving yards and 18 total touchdowns in those three years.

Bryant is currently without a team after he did not re-up with Oakland after last season.

The 27-year-old wide receiver now must wait to hear back from the Commissioner’s Office to see if he will be allowed to re-join the league.
