Washington Wizards John Wall Could Miss Two Months after a Knee Surgery

Will the Wizards be able to keep up without John Wall?

Washington Wizards have announced that their All-Star point guard John Wall will undergo a knee surgery on Wednesday. Although the team didn’t provide a timeline for Wall’s recovery, ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that he could be out for two months. This means that Wall will not participate in the NBA All-Star game which is scheduled for next month. He was supposed to play for Team LeBron.

John Wall banged his knees in a game against the Dallas Mavericks in November and has been having issues with it ever since. After an MRI on his left knee, he consulted surgeon Richard Parker, who already performed procedures on his knees in 2016, and came to a conclusion to have the surgery now. It was reported that Wall insisted to take care of his injury as soon as possible, so he could return in time for the playoffs.

Washington Wizards are currently on the sixth spot of the Eastern Conference with 27-22 record, tied with Milwaukee Bucks on the fifth and two games behind the Miami Heat on the fourth. With Wall out of the picture, it will be upon Bradley Beal to carry the load for the team in the upcoming games and try to hold down the fortress until the Wizards’ main guy returns.

John Wall was the first overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. Since then he was named to NBA All-Rookie First Team, was NBA All-Star five times and received an All-NBA selection in 2017. In this season he has been averaging 19.4 points and 9.3 assists per game.
