After an unexpectedly long wait, Blue Jays rookie phenom Vladimir Guerrero Jr. blasted the first two home runs of his Major League career in his team’s 7-3 win over the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night.
Guerrero spent his first 13 games in the Majors undergoing a bit of an adjustment period. The rookie phenom was only hitting .191 with 0 homers and 1 RBI before his big performance on Tuesday.
Guerrero smacked the first home run of his MLB career in the first inning off of Nick Vincent, and then added a big three-run shot in the 6th inning to extend his team’s lead to 7-2.
Guerrero made his debut with the Jays at the end of April after being regarded as baseball’s biggest future star during the past couple of years.
The son of former MLB outfielder Vladimir Guerrero, he was regarded unanimously as baseball’s top prospect at the beginning of the 2019 season.
His first career homers are set to be only two in the long line of many that he will surely hit in his career.
For now, the 20-year-old phenom will savor a night that he is sure to remember for the rest of his life.
