Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins could see his season come to a premature end after he suffered a right Achilles tear. The Vikings star was injured during his team’s 24-10 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, helping them to turn a three-game losing streak at the start of the season into a 4-4 record.

Cousins’ injury came with 9 minutes and 50 seconds to go in the fourth quarter when his foot buckled before he was taken down by Packers defensive tackle Kenny Clark. The quarterback limped off the field immediately after. Rookie quarterback Jaren Hall filled in for Cousins for the remainder of the game.

“It was just weird,” Vikings center Garrett Bradbury said about the moment he saw Cousins leave the field.  “Whenever the Vikings are out there, Kirk’s out there.” The Vikings are expected to only know the extent of Cousins’ injury after he undergoes additional testing.
