The Minnesota Vikings didn’t lose any time in addressing the glaring hole in their offensive line that was caused by the season-ending injury of standout left tackle Cam Robinson. The franchise announced on Wednesday it had acquired offensive lineman Cam Robinson in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Vikings will receive Robinson and a seventh-round pick while sending a conditional fifth-rounder to Jacksonville. The Jags might end up receiving a fourth-round selection in 2025 if Robinson meets the playing time conditions.

Reportedly, the Jags agreed to pay $7 million out of the $9 million Robinson is owed for the remainder of the season. This helped the Vikings add him to the roster without having to do any salary-cap gymnastics.

While teams rarely move on from starting-caliber left tackles like Robinson, the Jags were willing to let him go because he will become a free agent in the offseason. For the Vikings, giving up a potential fourth-rounder for a rental is worth it, as they believe they can make a deep playoff run after a strong start of the campaign.

Cam Robinson was selected by the Jags in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Since then, he started 91 games, including the first seven of 2024. Robinson spent the Week 8 clash against the Green Bay Packers on the bench, with Walker Little taking over his starting job.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
