Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel is set to be sidelined for an undisclosed period due to suffering an injury during Thursday night’s 2-1 victory over the Boston Bruins. The team did not disclose the type of injury that Eichel has picked up.

“The latest update I got today is he’ll miss a little bit of time,” Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy explained after a morning skate at the team’s practice facility. “But I don’t know how much time.” The Golden Knights coach confirmed that Eichel underwent an evaluation after the Bruins’ game and was experiencing some minor soreness on Friday morning.

Cassidy explained that Eichel is due to undergo a series of medical tests in order to better diagnose the problem. The Golden Knights are also without fellow center William Karlsson, who remains week-to-week. The Golden Knights called up Byron Froese from the team’s American Hockey League affiliate in order to temporarily fill in for the missing stars.
