Utah Jazz is trying to turn around their season by adding new players after a series of underwhelming performances in recent weeks. After getting guard Jordan Clarkson in a trade with Cleveland Cavaliers, the Jazz now also signed G League guard Rayjon Tucker. In a corresponding move, the team released veteran Jeff Green.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Jazz inked Tucker, who went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft to a multiyear contract. The 22-year-old was enjoying standout performances with Milwaukee Bucks’ G League affiliate Wisconsin Herd, averaging 23.9 points per game.

“Utah is getting a fantastic young man with a great work ethic and passion for the game,” said Herd coach Chase Buford in a conversation with ESPN. “Rayjon is an elite athlete who competes at a ridiculously high level every night. He’s a human highlight reel and a very exciting prospect for now and the future.”

Rayjon Tucker played college basketball with Florida Gulf Coast and Little Rock. He averaged 20.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in his senior season while making Second-team All-Sun Belt.

Green played all 30 games with the Jazz this season, coming off the bench and playing 18.4 minutes per game. His averages included 7.8 points and 2.7 rebounds.
