United States Men’s National Team star Weston McKennie was left out of the Juventus squad for Sunday’s game against Monza. This comes as McKennie finds himself in the midst of transfer talks with Premier League club Leeds United.

“He absolutely won’t be involved, he’s at the center of transfer rumors,” Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri confirmed in a news conference. “I think the club has already reached an agreement with the club he’ll be joining.”

Coached by American manager Jesse Marsch, Leeds United has been looking to acquire McKennie during the January window. In addition to being the club of USMNT teammates Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson, the Premier League side recently hired former U.S. international Chris Armas as the assistant coach to Marsch.

McKennie proved to be a crucial member of Team USA at the 2022 World Cup, helping his team to reach the round of 16. He has scored nine goals in 41 appearances for his country.
