USMNT midfielder Michael Bradley is staying in Toronto. The team announced on Thursday that they have re-sing Bradley to a multi-year contract. According to the official statement, the deal was made using Targeted Allocation Money (TAM).

The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but it is expected that Bradley continues to be one of the best-paid players in MLS. In 2019, the 32-year-old had the third-highest salary in the league earning $6 million annually.

“Michael Bradley has led this club in the biggest games we’ve played in during his time at Toronto FC and is our engine,” said Toronto FC’s president Bill Manning in a statement. “Michael and his family have made Toronto their home, and we are all very happy that they will continue to be part of our club for years to come.”

Bradley, who captains Toronto, was one of the team’s key players last season once again. He played 27 games, contributing with three goals and three assists, while also providing valuable leadership for the squad that made its way to 2019 MLS Cup Final.

“I feel so attached to the city of Toronto, the club, the team. I love it here, and I am really proud of what we’ve been able to do over the past six years,” said Bradley after inking the deal.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to play in the biggest games and competing for trophies every year,” he added.

Michael Bradley joined Toronto in 2014 from Seria A powerhouse AS Roma in a transfer worth $10 million. During his time in Canada, Bradley helped Toronto win MLS cup in 2017 and three Canadian Championships. Altogether, he played 200 games for the franchise and scored 13 goals alongside 30 assists.

Individually, Bradley had three All-Star appearances in the past five years and won U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year award in 2015.
