USMNT full-back Bryan Reynolds is struggling to carve an impactful role with AS Roma this season, which is why the 20-year-old player might be on the move soon. According to the MLS, the Seria A team is considering loaning out Reynolds when the transfer window opens in January.

Reynolds is currently not in new manager Jose Mourinho’s plans and played in just two games in the 2021-22 season. Even more telling is the fact that he spent only two minutes combined on the pitch in those two appearances. For comparison, he played seven times and made three starts in the second part of the last season.

There’s also no indication that Reynolds’ status could change in the future, as Mourinho doesn’t seem to trust the American all that much.

“I put Reynolds because he was the only fullback, if [Roger] Ibanez had been on the bench I would have put him but he wasn’t there,” said Mourinho earlier in September, explaining the decision to bring in Reynolds in the game against Sassuolo.

Bryan Reynolds arrived at Roma in February from MLS side FC Dallas. At the time, several European clubs were high on the U.S. international, but Roma ended up being the fastest. The interest in Reynolds should remain high despite the lack of performances, and he should have issues finding a loan option where he could play.
