USMNT and Wigan Athletic’s left-back Antonee Robinson could be making his way to the Premier League soon. According to Sky Sports, Robinson is currently wanted by Leicester City.

After several impressive seasons with Wigan, Robinson became a target for top European clubs and was even close to joining Seria A giants AC Milan in January. Health issues nixed the transfer at the time, but the 22-year-old American is now a wanted man once again.

It is believed that Leicester City sees Robinson as an ideal replacement for Ben Chilwell. Clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City are among clubs interested in spending big on Chilwell, and England international is expected to be on the move this summer.

Reportedly, Wigan would be keen to sell Antonee Robinson as they are looking for financial injection in order to settle their bills. Robinson is currently valued at $5 million, but the club would not settle for less than $10 million, which Milan was ready to pay earlier in the year.

Robinson started his career with Premier League side Everton in 2015, but never managed to get a chance in the first team. He joined Wigan Athletic in 2019 after an impressive season at the club during a loan spell. So far, he has 56 appearances with Wigan in all competitions.

His impressive showing in Championship also secured a call-up in the United States men’s national tea for Robinson. He made his debut in 2018 and has seven appearances since then.

I am a reality TV junkie. My dream since I was a kid was to be on Big Brother, but until then you can catch me binge-watching episodes each summer.
