USMNT’s Antonee Robinson won’t be headed to Sheffield United as everyone thought, but he is still going to play Premier League soccer next season. The newly-promoted Fulham announced on Thursday that they have completed the transfer for Robinson, signing the 23-year-old left-back to a multi-year contract.

Although Fulham didn’t disclose the transfer fee they paid, reports say that Wigan Athletic received around $3 million for Robinson.

“I am made up to be a Fulham player,” said Robinson after inking the deal. “I was really excited to get down here and get everything signed. When the lads get back in here, I can’t wait to get going.”

At Fulham, Robinson is facing competition for the left-back spot from Maxime Le Marchand and Joe Bryan. Le Marchand was mainly used from the bench last season, while Bryan started 39 games and contributed with one goal and seven assists.

Product of Everton’s academy, Antonee Robinson spent the previous two years with Wigan. He made 64 appearances for the club in all competitions and scored one goal with two assists. Robinson was set for transfer to Seria A side AC Milan in January but the move fell through due.
