Seria A side Juventus signed United States star midfielder Weston McKennie to a new contract extension.

According to Juve’s official social media post, McKennie is now tied to Turin club until the summer of 2026. The 25-year-old American was previously set to become a free agent at the end of the 2024-25 season.

Weston McKennie joined Juventus in the summer of 2021 in a transfer from German club Schalke 04. After some early struggles, McKennie appeared to be poised for an exit but has managed to establish himself as a valuable member of the squad in recent years.

McKennie proved to be a formidable presence in Juve’s midfield, providing toughness and security. He also managed to score 13 goals and add 15 assists in 134 games in all competitions. This included 10 assists last season, in which he helped the club lift the Coppa Italia profile.

McKennie hasn’t been featured in official games this season, but the extension is a clear sign that Juventus’ new head coach, Thiago Motta, is counting on him.

Juve is expected to continue being busy ahead of the transfer deadline. The club is actively trying to sell Italian winger Federico Chiesa while discussing a transfer for Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho at the same time.
