United States men’s national team star Christian Pulisic is expected to be sidelined until January after suffering a calf muscle injury.
Pulisic got hurt while playing for AC Milan in a 2-1 loss to Atalanta on Friday, being forced to exit the game in the first half. He underwent an MRI on Monday that showed a slight tear of a calf muscle in his right leg.
AC Milan didn’t announce how long Pulisic will be out, but sources close to the club told Sky Sport Italia that the club doesn’t expect him to play in 2024 again. Pulisic is expected to undergo another MRI next week when more details about his recovery process will be shared.
Losing Pulisic represents a tough blow for AC Milan, considering he has been one of their best players this season. The 26-year-old American made 20 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring eight goals and adding six assists.
After finishing second in Seria A last season, AC Milan has been disappointing in 2024-25. They currently find themselves seventh on the standings with 22 points, trailing leaders Atalanta by 12 points. The Italian powerhouse is also playing mixed in the UEFA Champions League, where they have nine points from five matches.
