The US Men’s National Soccer Team put up a valiant fight in a 1-1 draw against Chile on Tuesday night.

The Americans took on Chile in a friendly match at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Texas. They were unable to take home a win, but they’ll be happy with their effort against one of South America’s top sides.

The only negative of the game was that Christian Pulisic, the star of the team, was injured in the 34th minute of the game.

He departed the game with a right quadriceps injury. The extent of the injury is still unknown and the team will be crossing its fingers that it isn’t serious.

Pulisic’s night started off better than it ended. He scored a goal in the 4th minute of the match to give the US an early lead.

The goal was a work of art, coming after he beat Chile’s defense and chipped the ball over Chilean keeper Gabriel Arias. Gyasi Zardes provided Pulisic with the assist.

Chile equalized only five minutes later with a 9th minute Óscar Opazo goal.

The win wraps up an international break for the team that saw a 1-0 win against Ecuador as well as Tuesday night’s draw. The USMNT’s next game will be a friendly against Venezuela on June 9th.
