Another USMNT player is leaving Bayern Munich this summer. After the Bundesliga giants sent midfielder Malik Tillman to Rangers last week, Bayern also sold U.S. international defender Chris Richards.

According to multiple reports, Richards is closing in on the move to Crystal Palace and has already agreed to personal terms with the Premier League side. The only thing that’s left is for Palace and Bayern to agree on a transfer fee that should be around €10 million plus add-ons. Reportedly, if met, the add-ons will bring the value of the transfer close to €18 million.

The Athletic previously reported that Richards already got in touch with Palace’s manager Patrick Vieira. The two talked about the club’s expectations of him and his possible role, which convinced the 22-year-old player to embrace the move.

Chris Richards started his professional career with FC Dallas of the MLS but never played a single game for the club. Instead, shortly after signing a contract with Dallas in 2018, Richards went to Bayern for a trial and stayed there until now.

In Munich, Richards split time between the club’s U19, reserve team, and senior squad. He played 10 games across all competitions for the senior team while also spending time on loan with 1899 Hoffenheim.
