R&B star Usher will headline the halftime show at the Super Bowl LVIII. The event will take place at the Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders, on February 11, 2024.

NFL confirmed the news on its social media via a clip featuring Hall of Famer Deion Sanders breaking the news to Usher.

“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before,” said Usher in a statement. “Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”

Usher will have big shoes to fill, considering that the last two Super Bowl halftime shows are considered to be among the best ever. The Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show featured an ensemble hip-hop lineup that featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar, among others. Then, the league turned to Rihanna for the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show, and it ended up being the most-watched halftime show performance of all time.

Usher released eight studio albums in his career, with the ninth, Coming Home, set to be released in 2024. He is one of the best-selling music acts of the 2000s and has eighteen top-ten singles on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. The 44-year-old also has two Grammy Awards to his name.
