Despite having one year left of college football, USC’s quarterback Caleb Williams is already considered a favorite to go first overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. And there is one particular team that the Heisman Trophy winner would like to have that pick.
Speaking with PEOPLE magazine earlier this week, Williams revealed the Miami Dolphins as his preferred landing spot in NFL. He pointed out Miami’s young coaching staff and offensive weapons as part of the draw.
“I like to be around younger coaches. I’d probably go to the Dolphins,” Williams shared. “I also would be able to play with Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Mike Gesicki. The defense isn’t bad. That’s probably my No. 1 spot.
Williams is coming off a spectacular sophomore season that saw him lead the Trojans to an 11-3 record while throwing for 4,537 yards, 42 touchdowns, and only five picks. He was awarded the Heisman Trophy as the best player in college football at the end of the 2022 season.
Unfortunately for Williams, the chances of him ending up in Miami seem slim at the moment. The Dolphins already backed Tua Tagovailoa as their quarterback of the future and have too good of a team to end up with the first-overall pick.
