A few weeks ago, Urijah Faber hinted on social media that he might be considering his UFC comeback, but most fans didn’t expect the 40-year-old to step into octagon three years after retirement.

Well, it turns out that Faber was serious as he just revealed he accepted a UFC fight in a recent interview with Full Reptile’s Dan Hardy.

“Looking at today’s landscape, I just know that I can compete easily,” – Faber explained his decision. “I’ve stayed in great shape. It sounds like fun and the reason I stopped is because I wanted to. The reason I’m coming back is I have decided I want to … I just accepted a fight yesterday, I don’t know if that’s supposed to be put out yet.”

Although Faber didn’t go into details about the fight, MMA Junkie reports that he is scheduled to face Ricky Simon in a three-round bantamweight match. Simon has a 15-1 MMA record and is currently undefeated in UFC having fought in three matches. The fight is set to take place on July 13th at UFC Fight Night 15 in Sacramento.

After an illustrious career that spanned over 13 years, Urijah Faber managed to win WEC Featherweight Championship and KOTC Bantamweight Championship. He was a multiple UFC championship challenger and managed to compile a 10-6 record during his time with the organization. Faber decided to retire on December 17th, 2016 after a win over Brad Pickett.

I am a reality TV junkie. My dream since I was a kid was to be on Big Brother, but until then you can catch me binge-watching episodes each summer.
