U.S. international defender Geoff Cameron is leaving his club, Stoke City, on a temporary basis to join another English Championship side, Queen Park Rangers. Reportedly, Cameron will be on loan at QPR until January.

After Stoke was relegated from Premier League last season, Geoff Cameron expressed a desire to leave the club. This caused the team’s manager Gary Rowett to exclude Cameron from his plans for this season. The 33-year-old now joins a team that is at the bottom of Championship with just three points from five matches. He will try to help QPR with his veteran experience and bring stability to a defense that conceded league-high 13 goals.

Geoff Cameron started his soccer career with Rhode Island Stingrays in USL Premier Development League, before joining MLS side Houston Dynamo in 2008. After four years with Dynamo, during which he earned four All-Star Game selections, Cameron joined Stoke City in 2012. He established himself as a reliable player and part of the team’s regular rotation and went on to play a total of 168 games for Stoke.

Cameron was also a regular part of USMNT and went on to make 53 appearances since his debut in 2010. He was also a part of USA team that took part in 2014 World Cup.
